they won’t acknowledge a problem. I spoke to a specialist and they just said they haven’t pulled it from there system
Some returns will stay Pending for several days or even longer, especially with the IRS filing delay and backlog this tax season due to COVID closing the offices and leaving the IRS with very few employees working for the past year. The IRS has not stated how long returns can or will remain in pending status.
Until your state or the IRS processes your return, you may see there's "no record found." That actually means the return's still being processed.

I don't think that answers the issue that many of us are encountering.
Why are so many of our CA state tax submissions still in pending state whereas the IRS has accepted them almost immediately? Is there an issue with certain forms that TurboTax created that are now causing a delay or is there a delay by CA state tax board? If so, how much is that delay? It never used to take that long in years past in our case.

You are absolutely right I think. The returns are flagged and will be rejected and we will have to resend
Many CA returns are still pending (one I filed included). TurboTax does not actually "send" the return to the IRS or State - then make the return available on the e-file server so the IRS and State can poll it (come and get it). When the IRS or state does that depends on the IRS and state. All TurboTax can do is make it available, the rest is up to the state.
They need to reject the folks who filed early and didn't get the error fixed when Turbotax issues the software update. This just means our taxes will get rejected and cause delays.
You have other "experts" claiming it is filed but not approved yet by the state, complete miss information and causing confusion
A MESSAGE FOR TURBOTAX ---- You MUST fix this issue for those of us in California who filed early (Feb 1, 2, 3) and whose Federal was ACCEPTED on Feb 11. Our California shows PENDING everytime we check our status in the TurboTax software. If you don't fix this for us, you will lose lots of $$$$$ next year when we all go to H&R Block software !! Gather your IT professionals and check your software and locate ALL of us Californians who filed early in California and FIX THIS FOR US. We can't keep waiting, waiting, waiting and then come April we are accused by California of NOT FILING !
100%. Agree! I’ve been using TT for over a decade now. This is two years in a row that a software bug has screwed me. I’m done!

TO TURBOTAX CEO: Because of this huge problem of California returns still PENDING, you are officially on notice: You are at risk of losing $$$$$$$ next year because all of us California's are SWITCHING TO H&R BLOCK Software!!!!!
