California Refund Still Pending - Received Status = Unknown

So many of us are still PENDING with California.  What's going on ?  Turbotax needs to ensure our California returns were efiled to California properly !!!

TurboTax does not send tax returns to the IRS or a state. Tax returns are pulled from the TurboTax servers by the IRS and States.

California has not pulled the state tax returns from the TurboTax servers.

Federal tax returns are being pulled and accepted by the IRS.  Other state tax returns are being pulled by other states and being accepted.

So you can look to see and CONFIRM that California has NOT pulled anyone's return from the Turbotax servers ???

I'm in the same boat.  My federal return was already accepted and my refund literally posted today.  My California return remains pending in Turbotax and the program just tells you to exit with no further information.

You're correct.  Every time I go into the Turbotax program to check the status of California, it says Pending and just says "Exit Turbotax" without anything further.  This is really getting me nervous.

No specific reason given but she said she didn't see any California Tax returns get accepted yet.  I even went as far as going the the State tax return website and entered my info there to find that they don't even have a record of it.  My best guess here is that they are back logged.

What's the phone number to California Franchise Tax Board?  Maybe I'll try calling (but probably will be kept on hold for hours).....

I got the number and am hold now, but it says there's a LONG wait.  Maybe I'll have try tomorrow.

In the automated system, it asks me to identify myself, and when I did, the system told me that they have not received my 2020 return.  So, again, TO TURBOTAX -  What's going on?  Can you tell all us Californians why our returns have not yet been sent to California please ???  We're really getting nervous...

TurboTax does not send tax returns to the IRS or a state. Tax returns are pulled from the TurboTax servers by the IRS and States.

If your California tax return is Pending then it is waiting for the state to pull the state tax return from the TurboTax servers.

The IRS has begun pulling federal tax returns in batches from the TurboTax servers since the IRS officially opened on 02/12/2021.

Other states have begun pulling their state tax returns from the TurboTax servers after the IRS has accepted the federal tax return for the same taxpayer.

I help my brother-in-law with his taxes and his federal taxes were accepted on 2/12/21 and his CA taxes were rejected on 2/13/21.  Turbotax screwed up the forms somehow and corrected the issue.  Once rejected, he was able to log back into Turbotax (which corrected the error with a software update) and resend his CA taxes on 2/13/21.  After the second submission they were accepted by CA on 2/14/21.
