When are you going to fix the California return for Social Security on the Ca adjustment sheet. I'm unable to file electronically until it is fixed. The Federal taxable Social Security amount is not being carried over to the 540CA. I cannot override it either. Please have your programmers look at this and fix it. I spoke to 3 different technical support people who agree with me that it needs to be fixed, but it's been weeks now, and it hasn't been fixed. Doesn't your technical support team communicate with the programmers????
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
I apologize for your frustration.
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2019" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
On your menu bar at the very top, click “Online” and then “Send Tax File to Agent”. When you click to send, you will get a pop-up with a token number. Reply with the token number and I’ll be able to open a TurboTax file with your numbers but not your personal information. That may help diagnose the issue.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

I went through this process THREE times with your technical support team members. They ALL agreed that this appears to be a program error.
I have TurboTax Deluxe, which I paid for and downloaded. Possibly it is only a problem with this particular program, but I cannot even determine a work-around so I can electronically file my state return.
All the technical support people told me to contact the PROGRAMING TEAM MEMBERS but I don’t know HOW!!
Please let’s get this asked, answered and FIXED! Give my a phone number to a PROGRAMMER so WE can look at the error online together. I need someone who can FIX it, not just agree with me that it’s broken.
btw, in these instructions, my version doesn’t show a “show my return to an agent” option.
Your IMMEDIATE attention to this will be appreciated. I’ve waited almost a month. If someone can call me, my telephone number is [phone number removed].

Thank you for the reply. I didn't notice till now that you had replied. I sent the file and the token number is 644839.
Thank you for your assistance.

I'm sorry but I don't see my question anywhere.
My Federal taxable Social Security as shown on 1040, line 5B, and on the Social Security Benefits worksheet, line 9, indicates there is ZERO (0) taxable. This amount (0) should have carried forward to the California State Form, Schedule CA, line 5, column A. It has NOT been carried forward to this page, nor is there anywhere I can override to add it. I'm getting a forms error that "line 5 Federal taxable amount must be entered", but I am unable to enter it anywhere, and thus far, none of your upgrades have fixed it. I have already paid to electronically file my state return, but cannot file because of the error.
Hopefully, my explanation and the copy that was submitted to you will be sufficient to resolve this issue so I may file my California tax return.
Thank you for your assistance,
Gail A Reynolds
Is anyone going to reply to this? A month and a half, and it is still not resolved, and I have only had one person reply.

I apologize for the delay in replying! Unfortunately, with all of the recent events, things have been overrun with questions regarding the stimulus payments, and I was unable to see your question!
Thank you for the Token number. I was able to look at your return and find a way to remove the error with California.
I recommend you do the following to help eliminate the error.
Please comment and tag me if you are still having issues once your run the steps again so we can address your return and get you filed. Thank you for your patience!
