I got email stating this but still can't file. Turbotax says forms are not ready.

Unfortunately, that email from TTX was VERY poorly worded.
It should have made it clear that what was ready, was JUST the forms for printing and mail filing. E-filing those NC forms is still not ready, and scheduled to be ready for E-Filing, on/after 24 Feb.
E-filing would still be likely to get processed sooner.

That might be true but STILL CAN'T PRINT THE FORMS TO MAIL THEM!
My NC state tax return will not transmit. What is the problem?

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing. It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022
Go to this TurboTax website for North Carolina state forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nc_online_individual.html
If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return. This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.
If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen. On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit. Select the button File by Mail. Then change the filing status of the state return.
After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing. Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.
as stated in the numerous other emails, the forms are not ready. While this has little impact to me and I can wait until Feb 24, it may make a difference to some with financial needs. This was interesting experience but not worth saving a few dollars for the angst.
It is March 2, 2022 and my Turbotax indicates I need more info on D-400 Supplemental Schedule due to K-1 info. I have entered all K-1 info I have and I still get the error when I do checks. The program does not highlight what I am missing on the D-400 Supplemental Schedule.
Yep! Filed on the 24th and three days later accepted. Whew...........
