If you changed your mind about MAX, you can remove it as long as you haven't already paid for it.
When you're in your return:
Before checking out, you'll have the chance to re-confirm that MAX is right for you. We don't offer discounts or refunds for unused features or if you've already paid the fee.
What's great about MAX is that it covers you well beyond the day you file. If anything happens, you've got experts ready and waiting to help you.

I already paid for Max unfortunately and will try to get a refund at some later date, but more importantly for me right now is to disable Max so I can actually progress in Step 3 'Get ready to file your returns' of the 'File' section. Right now, when I click the button to file my taxes (I've already completed step 1 and 2) It leads me to a page saying that I first need to add information on the state I live in and the ZIP code in the 'My info' section. These items are not needed for me since I live in the UK. I also never received an email with a link from IDNotify. I can't progress in filing my taxes which is quite frustrating. Please advise, thank you.
This can be resolved by temporarily changing your information under Personal Info, then changing it back before filing your return.
That worked @Critter-3 !! Thanks a bunch!!
I was charged for MAX and didn’t need or want it. I haven’t agreed to the terms and have not yet filed. I want a refund for MAX, this company planted this at the end of the process to extort money and it’s completely criminal. It is no wonder there are thousands of lawsuits, I’ll create my own if my funds are not restored.

Has your credit card been charged for the purchase of the TurboTax online account and the Max option?
You will have to contact TurboTax support for assistance with this problem. Use the key words Billing Issue
See this TurboTax support FAQ for contacting support - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/turbotax-phone-number...
Support can also be reached by messaging them on these pages https://www.facebook.com/turbotax/ and https://twitter.com/TeamTurboTax
I have reached out by phone and have a case number and confirmation number. And am waiting to hear back in the next five business days. Until then I have decided not to file as the next option is to agree to the terms and conditions of MAX which I don’t want.. I fear if I did move forward it would be just another confirmation that could be used against me.
I have never had this problem in the past.. this product placement was carefully designed to embezzle. I don’t appreciate being taken advantage of in this way. I’m already paying for the services I shouldn’t be hassled about upgrading from page to page only to be tricked at the last minute.
@Shdubois Sorry you had such a bad experience. For future reference never complete a credit card transaction until you know exactly what you will be purchasing.
You should have been shown a list of what was being purchased prior to entering your credit card payment.
The Max option could have been removed before payment as well as many other options that could have been listed. See this TurboTax support FAQ - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/reduce-fees/L3Kp3...
