This has been true for several days. Is this a bug in turbotax desktop? I've checked the IRS site referenced in the email and the return has been "received" but is the "process" of being approved. The state site also identifies it has received the return.

My situation is the same. Have used TurboTax for decades and never have encountered an issue like this. It's been 9 days since I got the emails stating both returns were accepted yet TT still shows pending. It's an obvious bug - yet no one from TT seems to want to acknowledge it for some reason 🤔
Once your return is accepted by the IRS, they will have the most up-to-date information for you. TurboTax helps you prepare your return and then we pass it on to the IRS.
Sign into your online TurboTax account, then, go to Tax Home. You can check your e-file status here. Once that return is accepted, it's in the hands of the IRS and any further updates will come from their website. If it's been accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.
You do not understand the problem. I am not using TurboTax online. I am using the offline download version of TurboTax. The status of both of my returns when I start up the PC based TurboTax program still states my returns are pending days after I submitted them. Since, then I have received emails that both the Federal Tax return and State tax return have been accepted for processing and today I checked the federal and state refund status sites and the federal return site states my refund has been approved and will be credited to bank account by 2/28/23. My state return is still processing. My PC based Turbo Tax program still states my returns are in a pending status. Either the definition of "pending" has changed from prior years or there is a bug in your status software mechanism. I will note that I did have a problem when I initially submitted my returns. I seem to remember having to hit the submit button twice, and maybe that caused the problem?
The Desktop program seems to have a problem updating the status. If you got an accepted email don't worry about it.
I assume you are checking here? For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to the top black menu bar first item
File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
The reason I am "worrying about it" is that this may be a legitimate bug in the software and TurboTax should have an interest in fixing it. Also, in the past I have always gotten some type of electronic postmark back with a submission date and acceptance date. I suppose the email would also count as proof of acceptance but I would think TurboTax would want both the software status and mailing notifications to be in-sync.
I have the same issue. Got emails stating both federal and state returns were accepted six days ago, but TurboTax (download, not online) still shows return status as pending. Until TurboTax updates, I can't move forward printing returns.
It is nice to have a confirmation that someone else has the same problem I had. I've used Turbotax for years (decades) and never had this problem before, so it is probably a real bug in their software. I used the track my refund link on the acceptance emails to confirm both returns have been accepted, approved, and refunds credited. Still the status is pending. So you probably should use the emails you receive as confirmation and print out your returns because confirmation via the desktop software is probably not going to happen.

Yes - I use the software download Premier version of TT. Been 9 days now since I got the emails stating Federal and state returns were accepted - TT still shows status of both as pending
This Turbo Tax FAQ will show you how to check your e-file status, as this is something we will not know. You will also receive an email advising you of the return being accepted or rejected. If you opted in for text messages, you will receive that also.
How do I check my e-file status?
If it is accepted, you can then begin to monitor the IRS website for a release date. Visit the IRS website to track your refund.
