No. You do not get a 1099G for the Stimulus payment. 1099G usually comes from your state for unemployment or a state refund you got last year. What box is the amount in?
The government does not send a 1099G for a stimulus check. If you got a 1099G it is for something else---it is either for unemployment, or for a state or local income tax refund, a government grant, an agricultural program,....but NOT for a stimulus check. The stimulus money is not taxable---they do not send out a document for taxable income for it.
So----why did you really receive the 1099G? Did you get unemployment in 2020?
Well I would say that you are incorrect considering I am looking at a 1009-G form from the TN dept of revenue for a stimulus check. It is for a business it’s not personal
It is a stimulus check for business
You can enter it as Business Income, All Other Income.
@jmbowling22 Interesting----and an important piece of information that should have been included in your original question.
