Retirement tax questions
The government does not send a 1099G for a stimulus check. If you got a 1099G it is for something else---it is either for unemployment, or for a state or local income tax refund, a government grant, an agricultural program,....but NOT for a stimulus check. The stimulus money is not taxable---they do not send out a document for taxable income for it.
So----why did you really receive the 1099G? Did you get unemployment in 2020?
