And you installed Business 2018 not the Home & Business program? Do you have any other .tax2017 files you can try? Both the Business returns and personal returns both end in the same .tax2017.
Here's an idea. Do you still have 2017 installed? Try opening 2017 program and see if you can get your 2017 return to show up in it. Go to FILE - OPEN.
Then save it again with a name and place you can find. Go to File - Save As. Then start a new 2018 return and transfer from the 2017 file.

TurboTax can't read last year's C corp 1120 in order to transfer the return.
TurboTax Business 2018 can't read your 2017 1120? Can you provide more details? Are you trying to transfer in the 2017 return with its .tax2017 file?
Yes. I installed TT Business 2018 and attempted to transfer the return from the previous year (2017 Form 1120) which was prepared on this same computer. TT can find last year's return but I get an error message telling me that it cannot read the return in order to transfer it.
Are you absolutely certain it is the correct file (i.e., not the .tax2017 file for your individual income tax return)? If it is the correct file, it might be corrupt or have some other issue and you should contact TurboTax Customer support.

Thank you so much, VolvoGirl. Your suggestion worked perfectly and I was able to transfer a copy of last year's return.
