The RMD requirement was waived for tax year 2020.

Were we require to take an rmd in 2020

RMD's for IRA's and defined contribution plans like employer retirement plans like 401(k)'s were waived for 2020.

Defined benefit plans, equal periodic payment plans (most pensions) were not waived.
