Had three employers in 2018 tax year and paid $13,975.54 collectively across all three for Social Security. However, my 1040 only shows $1,274.28 in overpaid taxes. Shouldn't the amount that I'm due back equal $13,975.54 - $7,960.80? I read that the excess may be applied to any money I owe, but based on my 1040, I don't actually owe money...?

Look at your tax return Form 1040 Schedule 5 Line 72. Is the amount entered on Line 72 $6,015? If so, the amount from Schedule 5 Line 75 flows to Form 1040 Line 17 as a tax payment.

Are you married? If the excess SS isn't showing up make sure all the W2s are assigned to the right spouse. The excess is for each spouse, not combined.
Ah, yes! It sure does show the 6,015 in line 72. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the reply! I'm single and just figured out that the amount owed to me is on line 72.
Hi, I posed the original question here and am following-up as I did not receive the $6,015 for SS overpayment. I did not owe any money (if I had, I understand this would be deducted from my refund). Why is this and how do I get this rectified? Thank you!
The first place to look is Line 72 on Schedule 5 of your 2018 1040.
If your $6,015 overpayment for Social Security is there, then we follow that to the Form 1040, Line 17. There is a space on line 17 for an amount from Schedule 5, and it should be included on Line 17 in the column to the right. Line 18 is a combination of Lines 16 and 17. Line 18 is your total Payments. Next look at Line 15, this is your total tax. If Line 15 is greater than Line 18 then you will get a balance due on Line 22. If Line 18 is greater than Line 15 then you get a refund which should be on Line 19 and Line 20a.
If all this shows exactly as you would expect it to, and you have not gotten a refund, I would first make sure that your return was filed and if it was I would contact the IRS.
