You do know people have other refunds/write offs available right? I will still get a refund of $5700 AFTER the 1/3rd of the 401k distribution is deducted... Not everyone's refunds will be eliminated. So yes peoples REFUNDS are being held up, and TT is responsible for this!
Hello Folks, I am having the same issue.
If you guys get an update. Kindly please let us know.
Date : 6th march 2022
same here, this is only reason I am held up, I myself a computer programmer, it does not take 2 months to implement a single form!!
Great news! The IRS created new Form 8915-F to replace Form 8915-E. This form will be used for anyone who chose to take a distribution from their retirement and spread the taxable amount over three years.
It was recently (approximately 10 days) taken out of draft and finalized. TurboTax has an available date of March 24, 2022. Continue to check the availability date by using the link provided.
When entering your 1099-R in TurboTax CD/Download, you’ll be asked Was this withdraw due to Covid-19? On the next screen, it should ask you Did you test positive for the coronavirus in 2020? However, some users are reporting they aren’t being asked that second question.

that's 2 and a half weeks. What a joke. I'm just going to bring my tax return elsewhere.
Not true... Form 8915-F was taken out of draft by the IRS and Finalized in the first week of February 2022. This is TT dragging their feet!! I am a software developer, and it DOES NOT take this long to add 1 form to your software..... A day or 2 max, even with only one employee working on this! MULTIPLE other online tax filing platforms have had it available on their sites for a MONTH now...
Have there been any updates? I cannot file. I am also one of those that took the entire tax hit last year. When is this getting updated? The IRS has completed its documents.
This is the latest as indicated in this thread. I watched the form each day on the IRS website to be sure I would know when it was finally released out of draft. Sign up for the update below.

I just ran through the 401K distribution section and it states the feature is not available yet. Is this the case or do I need to pay for TurboTax premium first? I usually pay at the end and use it for our small business too.

I am waiting on the same form in TurboTax. It actually gave me the option of being notified when the form is available for use. I signed up with my personal email address to be notified. I hope it is soon! That's all I'm waiting on as well. 🙂

You will enter 1/3 of the distribution from 2020 on your 2021 tax return using Form 8915-F. The form is not yet available in TurboTax.

I think they said the 25th sorry 24th
I used my 1099r in turbo tax for 2020. It shows 5a pensions and annuities as $30k but taxable amount as 5b $10k. Does that mean I did it correctly to distribute the $30k over 3 years? Also the software hasn't updated
