I have tried deleting the W-2 and reentering.

Make sure you are entering the info from box 12 correctly.   The W-2 you got from your employer will have four lines for box 12—labeled 12a, 12b, 12c, and 12d.

Any amount on a box 12 line will also have an uppercase (capital) letter code associated with it. (If there aren’t any capital letter codes in box 12, skip it and move on to box 13.)

In each box 12 line, select the capital letter code from the dropdown and enter the corresponding amount. See the example further down to see what it would look like in the TurboTax Desktop software.

Important: Don't confuse the lowercase box 12 letter (for example, the a in box 12a) with the capital letters in the dropdown.   So, if your box 12a has the letter code D in it, select D (not A) from the dropdown. And if 12a is blank, leave it blank—don't select A.    To enter multiple box 12 amounts, select +Add another box 12 item.   How to fill out Box 12

There is no lower case letter associated with box 12.  From a dropdown, I selected S - Contributions to 408(p) SIMPLE plan, as listed on my W-2. I'm getting a message that says: Check this entry - Form W-2: Box 12 code S --Should not be greater than the value in box 12 with code S for this W-2.  Box 12 code S: $x,xxx.xx

The conflicting values are the exact same number.

SAME! I feel like I am going crazy.

I am in the same situation. Called turbo tax and they were not helpful. A gentleman gave me this link as a "solution", but I was unable to truly understand what my issue is and how to solve it. Any help is apprecaited.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/retirement/discussion/getting-msg-saying-we-are-updating-how-sep-a...

I am also having the issue. FYI, If I round the decimal value down (i.e. if the value is xxxx.04, I input xxxx.00) it accepts and allows me to file, but that would make my Wages, Tips, other comp. line off (even though it doesn't catch that).

Check back for updates to your TurboTax program and run all updates when you open your program.

TurboTax is currently working on implementing some recent IRS changes for reporting SEP and SIMPLE plan contributions.

You can test this by editing your W-2 every 5-7 days to check on the status.

This is still a problem for me. Is it also a problem for you still?

Yes, still happening.  From what I've gathered this looks like an error with their programming.  I'm just going to file my taxes with a different company, I'm not willing to wait on turbotax to figure out their issues.

Any updates? Still having issues and Turbo tax already took my money.

If I removed the cents in the box on the 'Check this Entry' screen, you will remove the error message.  Once you do this, you will be able to e-file successfully.

I had to go on Reddit to find this out but you have to get rid of the cents. So if the box is $1,800.13 then put $1,800. It worked for me.

That won't raise suspicion at the IRS? Shouldn't I file exactly what the document states?

No it's ok.  The IRS wants all amounts rounded anyway.
