Cares Act Covid-19 distribution from 401k 2020 broken up over 3 years (2020, 2021, 2022) Did not receive a new 1099-R for 2021. Turbo tax doesn't ask for info for this?

Thank you all for this information. I also need this to be updated on the online version of Turbo Tax to file my return. If anyone has any updates please post them here.

When will turbotax have 8915F form available. I have heard other online tax options now have it available.

I downloaded the Form 8915-F from the IRS website today.  When I Googled it, the first link brought up a "Draft copy" with a watermark date of yesterday (Feb 15, 2022), but if you go to the IRS website and search for the form, it brings up the form and instructions for completing it without watermark or notation of it being a draft (interestingly enough, the revision on the form is January 2022).  I'm assuming that means the forms is now complete and official.  Any idea when the TT system will be updated to reflect and use this form?  This is the last piece I'm waiting on to complete my 2021 taxes.

Please see the Help Article here for IRS Form Availability.

In this public forum, we are provided with form availability information, but not an explanation as to why the form is not available until that date.  For additional information, it would be necessary to contact customer support.  To do this, please see this Help Article to get in touch with us.

The Form 8915-F for 2021 IS available now on https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8915f.pdf as of Feb 19th, 2022 when I have checked. We just need to wait now for TurboTax to make it available for efile in hopefully very near future so we can efile and get our refund.

Yes, was really hoping it would be here prior to 2/28 so that I can receive the Turbo Tax discount 🐵

Pretty sure they are going to add it after 2/28 on purpose, just so they don't have to give out the discount. As a software developer, I know that adding 1 form with 1000's of TT employees, they should have had it added weeks ago. The form was released by the IRS on 2/2/2022.

You can pay the TurboTax account fees now and lock in the lower price.

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card, without completing the 2021 return at this time, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on Continue. Complete the next screen to pay by credit card and click Continue.

Why is Turbo tax holding up on releasing the page, it has been available since January. Same thing in as last year, wait until march to increase the prices and then allow you to fill.  My taxes are done since January and I can't  continue. It also wont allow you fill free for the same page as well otherwise you get a free fed filing.  Now I go and check for my documents and is refusing me to download last year returns expecting me to give them a reason for even though I pay for the service

Not true last year when I came back and added the page then it increased the fees automatically and you have to pay for the reminder since it modifies your whole return . It does not lock your price

The Form 8915-E was only for tax year 2020 and no other year.

The new Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements is nothing like the old 8915-E.  The IRS only finalized the Form 8915-F on 02/03/2022.

The Form 8915-F is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/31/2022 (possibly sooner)

The form is available since 2/2 and you cannot fill until turbo tax uploads it, it is not my fault.  It is up to their discretion to wait till the end, so we pay double to fill.  Otherwise they will let me lock the price now,  and when is ready then I submit. That is not the case even if I push through whole thing and pay without filling , when new form arrives the fees will go up and you have to pay since it modified your income forcing you to go to the whole thing again.  it happened last year with previous form

you can lock in the price of a TurboTax version that includes 8915-F.

If you are using one of the lower cost options, then the charge goes up because TurboTax forces you to use the higher priced version.
