@eknecht In the desktop version of TurboTax, choose the Online menu option, then ScreenShare Code. If working online with TurboTax, you need to be on the phone with a TurboTax agent, and then you hit the Shift and Enter keys on your keyboard at the same time.
Where can I get my screen share code
When you go live with a tax expert they will instruct you how to generate the code.
Hello help
A screen share code is generated every time you make a live call to customer service or to speak to a tax advice specialist. These are not retained after the call.
Where can I get a code he on the line
@Erucan14 If you are working in the desktop version of TurboTax, you can get a screen code by using the Online menu option and then ScreenShare Code. If you are working online with TurboTax, the agent you talk to can tell you how to get a code that will allow for screen sharing.
This is not the correct answer. The share my file with an agent let's the agent upload your tax software into their Turbo Tax Desk to so that they can help the customer fix issues with their return.
I don't know and I'm sharing all information available.
There are two different items being discussed here.
If you are speaking with a TurboTax Live agent, they will prompt you to select Cobrowse at the bottom of your screen. This allows the expert to guide you and see your tax return only. The expert can only see your TurboTax program. Any confidential information cannot be seen by the expert.
If you are referring to the Share my file with an Agent function, this creates a "sanitized" version of your tax return so an agent can help you troubleshoot any issues you are having.
This version of your tax return removes any personal information such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, or anything else that is confidential. The agent will only be able to see the overall tax input and determine where any issues are and can then find a resolution for you so you can continue with your return and file.
I press Shift + Enter to share my screen but no code appears. I also tried online menu and screen share but still nothing happens
@starfurn Online tax preparation is closed now. You cannot use online software for a 2020 return at this time. The only way to finish a 2020 return that you started online is to use desktop software downloaded to a full PC or Mac. and the return will have to be mailed since e-filing is closed.
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2020 returns is now permanently closed. Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2020 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.
They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday-Friday.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
