I own a rental house in an LLC and added solar to it in 2023. How do I get the 30% credit. It is not my residence.

It appears that TT Business does not support form 3468 and that appears to be the form needed.

TurboTax does not provide Step-by-Step instructions for Form 3468, so you have to use Forms view to complete it.  The IRS instructions provide line by line guidance on how to complete the form.  See Instructions for Form 3468 (2023).  As for obtaining the IRS Registration Number, you will not be able to file without it, and take the credit.  You can file an extension for your Form 1065 if you're not able to obtain a registration number by Friday.  For instructions on how to file a Form 7004 in TurboTax Business, go to:

Is this a Partnership that you are using TurboTax Business?

You are correct that it needs to be on Form 3468.  I know the personal versions of TurboTax has that form, so I'm surprised that the business version does not have it.

If the software does not have that form, I recommend either going to a good tax professional or using different Do-It-Yourself software.

The Form 3468 is supported in the Business Edition for a Partnership, S Corp or C Corp

Go to this TurboTax website and select TurboTax Windows from the dropdown, the Form 3468 shows as available - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...

I have the business desktop software.   I can get the form in the software, b ut there is no step by step instructions for the form.    Also when I go to the IRS website to register the project I have gotten system errors when I go to submit the project and get a number that is needed on form 3468.  I have been getting that system error for three weeks.   It says to come back and try later.  I have to file the 1065 by the 15th and keep hitting roadblocks on this one.

Thanks - I think at this point with the LLC members breathing down my neck I will need to complete without the credit and file an amended 1065 later.    If I do that, Can the credit come back to the LLC as a refund?

NO ... since the 1065 is a pass thru entity when you amend the 1065 the credit will pass thru to the partners on their amended K-1 forms.  So the 1065 should go on extension and the return should be completed the correct way to begin with so that all the members/partners  will not need to also  amend their returns later.
