Guys I tried it again - twice! - and eventually the changes stuck. Got a "we hit a snag, check internet connection" at the critical step (my internet is fine) and after clicking through that error the system had settled down and let me proceed to the finish line.
So... my dear Turbotax team: It's OK to make a mistake. We all do it. I don't mind going back in and adjusting my return. What I resent is that I had to spend additional time and effort working through what obviously is another bug in your system. That's NOT OK. Please forward this message to your customer service manager and let your team know that I expect better this coming tax season. There are other choices on the market.
