Fidelity Investment import not working.

I can’t import either. Always worked in the past. Using the Premier downloaded version on a MacBook Pro with the latest MacOS Monterey version. TT up to date.

I tried several times and it failed each time after saying in Safari “Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax.” While at the same time saying in TT “This import was unsuccessful.” When I download a csv file 1099 it has ~3000 rows, so under the 10,000 limit.

Finding this and several other sites where people say they can’t download from Fidelity I knew it wasn’t just me and I tried various suggestions. Re-opened TT, cleared Fidelity, Intuit, and Turbotax caches and cookies in Safari, pop-up windows allowed, close/reopen Safari, tried Firefox, rebooted Mac, uninstalled TT removing everything in the library too and reinstalled, cleared Mac system caches, tried Firefox and Safari again. Probably forgot some other attempts. No joy.

This isn’t the two different accounts issue people also have. Telling me to enter it manually isn’t helpful. I already know. TT should work as before and as advertised.

Fidelity Investment import not working.

This is pathetic. The only posts I’ve seen from Intuit contain suggestions that don’t work. Not once has any technical person made some statement to the effect they are aware of the problem, are working to fix it, and apologizing for the situation.  This is not the way to keep customers.

Fidelity Investment import not working.

I was just having' problems importing from Fidelity as well. I switched my default browser to Edge and then everything started working. For another institution I had to log in to it on the edge browser first and leave the window open.... then I had Turbotax log in and it worked. Hope that helps you too.

[edit] I was just trying to help by posting the solution to my similar problem. I'm sorry it didn't help you, but is the bitching that I didn't help you really necessary??

Fidelity Investment import not working.

Interesting choice CarissaM to give a reply to the guy (Gregg) who doesn't need one. I'm happy for him too and hope his post helps someone. Are you CarissaM unhappy for the rest of us (2850 views of this topic so far)? All I've gotten are lame how many posts I've read badges. And are you doing something about it? Please let us know. We're stuck. None of the suggestions have worked. Thanks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you can add Chrome and tweaking more Safari settings to my lists of failed attempts (see my earlier post). Doesn't seem like a browser problem.

Edit 2: Updated to add "CarissaM" and "Gregg" to make it crystal clear I was responding to CarissaM who responded to Gregg's helpful reply (for some people as I originally stated). I thought that was clear but apparently Gregg thought I was referring to him.

Fidelity Investment import not working.

Thank you for the reply CarissaM. I thought since TT employees were responding on here that was enough. I called the support line. First for others calling the automated system will ask what you're calling about and when I said I was having a problem importing a 1099 it wanted to text or email a link. Don't bother and just say no to get a person. This is the link https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-search/1?q=Transfer%2BInfo%2B%2F%2BImport%2BData... you can check out first but I didn't see anything on there for this.

I explained the problem and all the steps I've tried as noted in my prior posts and she said that was all of the recommendations she had to offer. However, she checked and found a relevant investigation and added my email address to be notified when a solution was found. This is what I thought CarissaM or other employees posting on here could have told us about and why I asked "Are you doing something about it". This investigation may be what an earlier poster referred to when saying they were told a solution was coming on 3/3. Maybe it is still but is late.

So if you are still having trouble like me (and thank you for all of the suggestions from TT and others posting on here) and don't want to just wait for a solution to be posted here then I suggest to click the link above from CarissaM, call, and ask to be added to the investigation. Many calls may ensure a more robust effort.

TT employees posting here I'm don't know why you weren't aware but you could perhaps find about about this open investigation and post updates so folks don't have to call. Thanks.

Fidelity Investment import not working.

Break down and hire and accounting firm and request a TurboTax refund which they have denied and closed twice so far!!! I keep reading this and many other similar posts. This is incredible. Maybe it will make for a movie idea in the future for some creative person!!

Fidelity Investment import not working.

Same issue for me. I called TT and the response I got was yeah, sometimes the import doesn't work. That was it.  Definitely not helpful since I've use TT for Fidelity import for ages without any issues. I asked the individual to at least log the issue for tech support to see, which she hadn't even volunteered to do.

FYI you can enter manually (ug) summary numbers without having to put all the detail in (for those where F reports to the IRS your cost basis). Not preferable but I'll do it if they don't fix this in another week :(

Just glad I'm not alone............ (and I did try a fresh Edge, Firefox, and Chrome all with the same result. It gets the data but then the import fails)

Fidelity Investment import not working.

I was having the same issue.  Here's what I did that worked for me:

1. Logged in to my Fidelity account in Edge

2. In Edge, went to Settings -> Privacy, Search, and Services

3. Turned down Tracking Prevention to Basic

4. Turned off everything under Security

5. Tried the import in TurboTax (made me log into Intuit again)

6. Import was successful after a couple of attempts.

7. Put everything back.

Hope that helps

Many people have stated using Microsoft Edge and removing the pop-up blockers has helped. Please let us know if you are successful using a different browser.
