TWO GLITCHES I CAN NOT GET PAST under the "Wages and Income" header and in the "Retirement Plans and Social Security" section.   The first: I entered my wife's 2025 1099-R pension information from a private company pension.  As I progressed forward, a question arose asking "who did your spouse inherit this IRA from?  Choice was her spouse or someone else."  She did not inherit this pension!  It is a pension from the hospital she worked for and is payed in monthly installments by BNY Mellon Disbursement Agent for the Sparrow Health System A2 as shown on her 1099-R.  The software will not enter a number the accumulated 1099-R section, just gives me a "NEEDS REVIEW".   The second glitch showed up at the end of the "Retirement Plans and Social Security" section when an entry for "CANADIAN PENSION INFORMATION".  I was asked to "Enter the name you want to use to identify this Canadian registered retirement savings plan or registered retirement income fund".  I DO NOT HAVE A CANADIAN PENSION! so am unable to enter a name.  So I clicked on the continue button and it will not let me proceed without the entry of a "nonexistent" name.   CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?  RICKS

Hello! My partner and I got married last year in September and we are filing jointly for the first time. I moved from NY to NJ in June and kept my job, so my income from 2025 is entirely from New York. My spouse made his income in New Jersey. We are running into an issue when trying to allocate my NYS income where Turbo Tax is including his W2 income as well, and asking us to allocate from that total. We can't figure out a way for it just to include my W2 income. Has anyone else run into this issue?

There appears to be a calculation error on the car & truck worksheet. We purchased a farm truck in 9/2025 and place it in service. It is 100% business use. The worksheet calculates it automatically at 33.33% business use on line 9 of part 1 for which the instructions say you should divide total miles driven/miles driven for business use. This should result in 100% NOT 33.33%. This error is preventing us from using special depreciation and Section 179.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Please look at the instructions for Line 16 on page 18 in the Wisconsin Form 1 Instructions.   Note the various limitations, most specifically, You may not claim the school property tax credit if you or your spouse are claiming the veterans and surviving spouses property tax credit. Please review the Line 16 instructions, and if you feel that you satisfy all these instructions, come back and tell us.

My 2025 Federal tax was 25000.  I had paid far too much quarterly estimates.  I had the refund applied to 2026 taxes which was more than 25000.  Yet it printed1040 ES vouchers of 6000 each (four vouchers).   Pretty sure that is wrong.  AND I had to do a manual change to form 1040 to input the "apply to 2026".   Not like prior years. Thanks

Also, if I claim income to offset the 2025 depreciation, that seems like a bad idea.  A: I didn't actually claim any income. B: It would offset the depreciation, but I'm not sure how that would affect other things.  If I put the sale as 5/15/25 which is the real sale date, it shows about $4900 of depreciation for 2025.  Since I'm taking $4,900 of depreciation this year, but also claiming that depreciation immediately back on the sale of my house, isn't that a wash?  I deduct $4,900 from my income, but then I claim it back in the sale.  If I claim income of $4900, it would just add extra income for me...

Are there three numbers in box 19? That is, was tax withholding stated for three different localities? And was there a 0.00 for one of the box 19 entries in box 18? In other words, tax was withheld for some locality, but no income was declared for that locality, right?   In this case, just enter the box 1 amount where the 0.00 is. Go to your employer and point out to the employer that the IRS instructs them: "If you need to report information for more than two states or localities, prepare a second Form W-2." on page 24 of the 2026 General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3.   This will perhaps motivate them to tell you what the 0.00 number should have been.   The entries in boxes 18, 19, and 20 are telling TurboTax who gave what tax money to whom. If appropriate, TurboTax will pass that box 19 dollar amount to the state or local return.   If the box 19 dollar amount is zero, then there is no need to report the state or local wages or the state or locality name. In this case, the related entries in boxes 18, 19, and 20 can be deleted.   Note that the IRS does not care so much what you enter relative to state and local returns; it is usually TurboTax that flags an error (for example, tax withheld on box 19, but no income amount placed in box 18). TurboTax does this as a "sanity" check to make sure that some field was not accidently overlooked.
Apparently the online platform has a programming issue for inputing foreign tax.  Basically it is not providing a entryway for that data.
