If it's asking for an EIN number you are entering it in the wrong place. There is no EIN on social security SSA-1099. Delete it and enter it here, Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099 under Federal Taxes (Personal for Home&Business) Wages and Income Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security Then the second line - Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Revisit button Then keep going, on the next screen be sure to answer Did you live in a Foreign Country? NO. If you are married you need to say No for each spouse.
You should see a section called Rental Properties and Royalties in the Premiere edition of TurboTax. It is in the Wages and income area.
If you already filed somewhere else then this one should reject, unless you mailed the first return.  If this one gets Accepted you can not cancel it.  You will have to amend it if it went though.

If you report Self Employment income, you can claim mileage from your Home Office to your client's location and back.  If you visited a client after leaving your W-2 job, use the mileage from your home to the client location to figure business mileage for that day.  TurboTax asks for your 'total business miles' to calculate a vehicle expense deduction.   Here's more info Business Mileage and Using a Vehicle for Business.   @herha8

TurboTax asks for a Fidelity National Financial Services (NFS) sign-in during the 1099-B import because NFS handles Fidelity brokerage accounts. If you don’t have a direct NFS account user ID or password, this can cause issues. Currently, TurboTax requires you to log into NFS as part of the import process to retrieve your 1099-B. Since you don’t have a direct NFS login, you won’t be able to import automatically. You can manually enter your 1099-B details from your Fidelity tax documents instead. This avoids the sign-in requirement and ensures your information is included correctly.   To manually enter your Fidelity 1099-B in TurboTax Online, follow these steps: 1. Go to the Wages & Income section. 2. Scroll down to Investment Income and select Start or Update next to Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B). 3. When asked how to enter your 1099-B, select I'll type it in myself. 4. Enter the details from your Fidelity 1099-B form exactly as they appear, including sale dates, proceeds, cost basis, and any adjustments. 5. Review each entry and continue through the prompts.

Yes, you are correct. This is not self employment income and should be reported by using the steps below. Once completed this will move the income to the Schedule 1, then the 1040. You may need to delete the Schedule C. Steps are similar as provided above, but follow them carefully. 1. TurboTax Online/Mobile > Search 1099misc > click See more > click the highlighted 1099-MISC 2. TurboTax Desktop > Search > 1099-MISC > Click the Jump to.. link 3. Enter the 1099-MISC exactly as printed, and then Continue 4. Enter Paid Family Leave 5. Select None of these apply, then Continue 6. Select No, it didn’t involve work….. and Continue to 'How often did you get income for Paid Family Leave?' 7. Select ONLY the tax year for which this specific 1099-MISC was issued.  8. Do not select the year that you received the 1099. Select the year for which the 1099-MISC was issued. Select no other year.  9. Select No, it didn’t involve an intent to earn money, then Continue 10. Select NO, then Continue 11. Click the DONE button  This will complete the entry and you can continue to work on your tax return.   @Baileysh1

I've got a slight variation on this question:   My wife and I have a jointly-held cash account.  We gave our son a total of $100K, with the funds drawn from this account.  We want to have this treated as $50K from her and $50K from me; our accountant says that we should each file a 709, each showing that person's $50K gift.   So, Line 19 on 709 should be checked "yes", since "[I] and/or your spouse make gifts to third parties".  That seems clear enough, but then I get sent to Part III, where I get worried -- I don't think there's any point to having my gift (or her gift) to be split between us, since we each will be reporting a $50K gift.  I also don't see any need for doing a consent form for the splitting, since we're not really doing any splitting.   Thus, my guess is that I should just select "No" for Part III / 1 (we're not splitting), which rules out everything else in Part III, and I'm done.  This seems simple enough, but I have this bad feeling I'm missing something.  Is there any advice out there?  Thanks!
