@mike4reid @lixuejun    I don't know if they will ever allow imports from Netbenefits.   Maybe it was planned to be new this year, but it was never available in the past.  I've always had to manually type in my 1099-R forms that show up in my Netbenefits account.   (Opinion: Don't use a PDF or picture upload either....Just use the "Type it in myself")

Did the TT fees actually appear on your credit card statement?     No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/contact-turbotax/L2y9ZKpQB_US_en_US?uid=m5s9l2vh

It would depend on your category of employment and the reason for your legal fees.    In general, you can no longer claim a deduction for unreimbursed employee expenses unless you fall into one of the following categories of employment, or you have certain qualified educator expenses.   Armed Forces reservists. Qualified performing artists. Fee-basis state or local government officials. Employees with impairment-related work expenses. You can still deduct legal fees related to your employment if they involve specific lawsuits for unlawful discrimination, violations of whistleblower protection laws, or certain claims against the U.S. government. These fees would be reported as an adjustment to income on Schedule 1, not as an itemized deduction.    Legal expenses that you incur in attempting to produce or collect taxable income are no longer deductible.   You can get to this area of TurboTax as follows to check your entries: Click on "Search" in the upper right corner of your TurboTax screen Type "Form 2106" into the search box Click on the link "Jump to Form 2106" Your screen will say, "Do you have any employment expenses for W-2 work?" Select "Continue" Your screen will ask, "Is your XXX work part of one of these professions or situations?" Follow through your TurboTax screens and answer all follow-up questions correctly   Click here for Publication 529 (12/2020), Miscellaneous Deductions Click here for Are Unreimbursed Employee Expenses Deductible? Click here for Can I Deduct Legal Fees on My Taxes? If you have additional information or questions regarding this, please return to Community and we would be glad to help.

If you expect to claim mortgage interest or property taxes for the time that you owned a home in 2025, then you should mark that you did own a home in 2025.  Otherwise, just answer 'no'.   Even if you change your mind as you go through your return, answering this question does not lock you into anything one way or the other.

He's not totally wrong about Microsoft requiring a Microsoft Account and installing one drive to copy all your data. I just  setup a new PC last fall and that's exactly what happened. There are hacks to installing with a local account and uninstalling one drive after the installation is done (and starts copying your data). These two things suck, but they do have work arounds (if you are tech savvy). But by default for most users MS is copying all your data to the cloud (scary).  The AI thing is really dumb. I answered a question online and second guessed myself. I was a bit of a niche question, so not much out there. I used Google AI and it was kind enough to find the answer... and....I was shocked to see it telling me the answer was the post I had just made about 30min earlier!!! I was surprised.
Yes, it means that any donations you make in 2026.  You will be able to claim up to $1,000 without itemizing on your 2026 return that you will file in 2027.      @mykl-s
Thank you for telling us about the link error. This has been reported and will be fixed.    Can you clarify your other two questions so we can assist you further?

Once you have finished entering an investment income item, in both Desktop and Online versions, you end up at a screen where you have the choice to Add Investments or Confirm. Clicking on Confirm takes you back to an Income Summary screen where you can choose another Income topic.   If you are in Online you can also go to the left side menu and click on Wages & Income to get to the full list of income items from which to choose if you want to move to another topic or go back to one of the previous ones.   To fix TurboTax import issues, clear your browser cache/cookies, update software, disable ad/pop-up blockers, and ensure your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge) is updated to support secure connections. If import is disabled, verify third-party data sharing in your brokerage account settings. See this help article for troubleshooting steps with importing a document. @ranger75230

Dependents are added in MY INFO.   For a child born in 2025 make sure you say the child lived with you the WHOLE year.  You need to say that for a newborn.     Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.

Did you do the math to figure out how much was going to be deducted from your federal refund after your TT fees and the refund processing fees came out of the total federal refund?   Because it sounds like you used a paid version for a federal return and state return, and chose to have the fees paid from your federal refund---incurring an extra $40 "refund processing fee."   How can I see my TurboTax  fees?  https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k

It's an absolute absurdity for this company to have removed itsdeductible without creating a way to upload an itemized list.    Lost me for life.
