I bought the software Home and Business 2025 at Costco  during installing Turbotax invited me to do my taxes online,  which I accepted,  for me huge mistake, all I wanted to do is file an extension,  even doing was a nightmare to find where,  I finally got smart and ask my AI  as I was getting Zero help from that software in finding the right location,   Any how after doing the basic preliminary online,  I want to abandon doing it online and do on desktop version with which I can crank my work without begging for info.  so I guess I need to  install again the software , refuse their offer to do online  put my Serial Number,   re-import my last year return and start from scratch on desktop,

Thank you so much. This worked and I was able to file my nonresident state tax return.   You said it would fix my errors. To be clear, this was Turbotax's error. I answered the Turbotax questions accurately, and TT reported income for Oklahoma that I filled in $0 for during the questions. This was time-consuming and frustrating for me.

You can change the email address associated with your account through your account settings.   Intuit uses a single sign in system for all Intuit products, so changing it here will also update it for any other Intuit products you use, such as QuickBooks or Credit Karma.   To Change Your Email Address: Select Intuit Account located in the lower-left corner of your screen (near the Sign Out button). On the Account Manager page, select the Sign in & security menu. Select the Email address section. Enter your new email address and then enter it again to confirm. Enter your current password when prompted to verify the change. Select Save. Check your new email inbox for a verification link from Intuit and click it to finalize the update. If you can't sign in at all, you can go to the Intuit Account Recovery page. This requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to verify your identity.

I keep getting text messages about missing the 4/15/2025 tax deadline everyday - but I filed the 2025 Fed Tax return on 4/14/2026 and received an "Accepted" message back.  I login to TurboTax 2025 Premier desktop and it also shows that the Fed return was already transmitted and received.  I just submitted the State tax return, which isn't due until 05/01/2026.  So neither return was submitted late.   Why is this happening?  Was it truly accepted? How do I make the text messages stop?
@kaslawf6   It should be automatically added to your return.  It is NOT part of the standard deduction.  Check 1040 or 1040SR line 13b for it.  What do you have on line 13b?

To access your tax returns (current or prior year) you will sign into the TurboTax website with the user ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/   Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)   As an alternative for current year return, when you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a State (You will not really be adding a state).    This will take you back in to the 2025 online tax return.   Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Find the Print Center and choose the year you want to print.  If you want your full return including worksheets, choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets.   In TurboTax Online, follow these steps to print/view your return and all of the informational worksheets after you have filed:   Sign in to TurboTax Scroll down to Your Tax Returns & Documents Select 2024 and then Add a State (You aren't actually adding a State but this gets you back into the Print Center) From the left panel Select Tax Tools, scroll down a little and select Print Center Select Print, save or preview this year's return Select the 2024 Federal and/or State return box Choose to Include TurboTax and government worksheets Select View or Print Forms

@dougmat      FYI - It's not new, you could always qualify for EIC without a child.   You don't need to have a child or dependent if you are age 25 but under age 65 (at least one spouse must meet the age rule).  But back in 2020 & 2021 there were special rules. You could qualify for EIC without a qualifying child if you were at least 19 (no max).

Mortgage interest that was not reported on Form 1098 has to be entered on Schedule A line 8b. The entry can only be made in forms mode. That means there is no way to make the entry in TurboTax Online. Forms mode is only available in TurboTax Desktop, not in TurboTax Online. In forms mode, enter the interest directly on Schedule A line 8b. Do not use the Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet. But when you enter it this way, TurboTax will not calculate any limits that might apply to the deduction. See "Part II. Limits on Home Mortgage Interest Deduction" in IRS Publication 936 to see if any limits apply to your deduction. Keep in mind that you cannot deduct your entire mortgage payment. You can deduct only the portion of the payment that is interest. Also note that mortgage interest is an itemized deduction. It will not make any difference in your tax or your refund unless your total itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction. You do not have to provide any proof with your tax return. Keep your own records of how much interest you paid in case the IRS asks for proof later. Did you get a statement, or monthly statements, from the lender showing how much interest you paid, even though they did not issue a 1098? If not, contact the lender and ask if they can send you statement for your records.

If you are currently using TurboTax online:   Go to Wages & Income. Find the Investment Income section. Select Capital Loss Carryover. TurboTax will first ask for your federal carryover. Then, when you get to the State (Arkansas) section, it will ask if your Arkansas carryover is different from federal. Unless you have the depreciation differences mentioned you can usually say "No."

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)   The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction.  It is shown separately on line 13b.     2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)     For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.   (The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)   The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it. IRS Schedule 1-A https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040s1a--dft.pdf   Need to see it? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/preview-turbotax-online-return-filing/L77WCkvnu_US_en_US?uid=m681fkhr   If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025 Your income is too high You are filing married filing separately

I'm not certain exactly what problem or question you have.   How do I file Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation?
What form is this for? The state number is not the same as the federal. You might need to contact the issuer for the number.
This problem affects both Mac and Windows.
