How do you choose to receive your refund: Direct Deposit or paper check?
In case you select direct deposit, a wrong zip code usually won't delay your refund as long as your bank account and routing numbers are right.
If you select a paper check, you might use the IRS website Where's my Refund to see if a check was mailed. If a paper check was mailed to the wrong address, because of the wrong zip code, it'll be returned to the IRS, causing delays.
I suggest you file Form 8822 as soon as you can.

Deleting form 2441 is a 2 step process, so make sure it is fully gone before going through the steps again - - How do I delete Form 2441 in TurboTax Online? You have to remove the credit from the summary page first, and then delete the form. If you delete the form without answering NO in the interview, the form doesn't really go away.

The IRS says
For 2025, if you file a joint return and your taxable compensation is less than that of your spouse, the most that can be contributed for the year to your IRA is the smaller of the following two amounts:
1. $7,000 ($8,000 if you are age 50 or older).
2. The total compensation includible in the gross income of both you and your spouse for the year, reduced by the following two amounts.
2.a Your spouse's IRA contribution for the year to a traditional IRA. <=== is this it?
2.b Any contributions for the year to a Roth IRA on behalf of your spouse.
I assume that you have already looked at this. So how about thinking outside the box? Is it possible that you are listed as a dependent on someone else's return?

I found the solution to this today, and thank you for the post and all of the community replies. This is a problem, and before I purchased today, I was determined to find a solution. It turns out that this can be easily fixed with a workaround. Instead of purchasing audit defense within the Turbo Tax program, go to https://intuit.taxaudit.com/
This is where you can purchase FULL Audit Defense through the statute of limitations. It is cheaper, $39.99 for an individual return, and more comprehensive. In addition, if you have purchased via TurboTax in years prior, this is where all of your audit defense agreements live. You can view your past purchases and the terms of those agreements by setting up a login using your existing account#. To get your account# call 1-877-829-9695, click 2, to purchase, and they will find your information.
All the best to everyone out there!

The correct answer is "No" because this amount was already included in your Box 1 total wages. If you answer "Yes," TurboTax will misinterpret the Box 11 entry as a distribution (money taken out of a plan) rather than a deferral (money reported for FICA purposes).
This would cause the amount to be added to your income a second time on Schedule 1, Line 8t, resulting in double taxation. In your case, the company simply moved the units to satisfy a tax obligation, and that value is already reflected in your taxable pay.

Yes, you should start the Indiana County Tax module. Because you are a resident of Indiana, you are liable for Indiana county tax on all of your income, regardless of where you earned it

This is what I’ve found. If you do decide to accept that offer to switch from your desktop product to an Online return, you have to do it through that link you will see on the desktop installation screen. That's how it knows to give you the $0 online offer. If you do that, then once you start your online return, in the top left corner it should say Do It Yourself Premium. And in the top right corner you can verify you are being charged $0 this way: You can click on the shopping cart icon, and a popup should show that you are being charged $0. I would check that $0 fee periodically as you prepare your return to be sure. 2025 Migration to Online Offer TurboTax Desktop to Online Migration Offer Terms (Tax Year 2025) The offer is only for 1 federal and state returns. You have to pay for the rest. You can start another return in TurboTax Online by: Logging out if you are in your account Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return Create your account screen Set up a new login for the second return Start working on the new return If you used the Desktop program last year here’s How to transfer into the Online version, expand the blue link if you used the CD/download last year https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/how-do-i-transfer-last-year-s-return-into-turbotax-online/00/25953 If you used the Desktop program before you may notice several differences and not like the online version. It has less features and no Forms Mode. You can only do 1 return per account. Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2025 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done. In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something. You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.

Here it is 2026, and this issue has NOT been resolved. After spending a lot of time after pressing the help button and in chat, the information states something different than what a live person later said. I have just spent an hour and a half on the phone with someone from TurboTax who viewed my screens in real time while she attempted multiple work arounds. Nothing worked. I now have to file a complex many page MN return on paper via mail. Shame on TurboTax. Thumbs down.

I am working with an agent that has submitted my return with incorrect IP PIN several times. Dolline T is very unresponsive and the deadline is a week away. She seems to be the only person that can change it and no help agent can make any edits. What do I do? I have paid for the full service.

Hi, I converted a distribution from the annuity into Roth IRA last year. The 1099R shows the full amount of distribution taxable and code G in box 7. I imported the 1099R from the financial institution online into TurboTax. How do I answer the interview questions in TurboTax so that the distribution is taxable income and the rollover box in 5C is checked?

I purchased a license code from COSTCO with the intention of using in on my laptop, however it is incompatible with Windows 10, and my laptop's processor is incompatible with Windows 11, so Intuit told me to do my taxes online. The license code I purchased includes 5 free federal e-files and 1 free state file, so where to I enter the code online in order to avoid being charged for these filing fees?
