It is disappointing that Turbo Tax does not have a solution for this.  They need to address this in future updates.    My son is now trying to create his own account and it says an account with that email already exists, yet we have never created an account for him. He has always been under mine. Very frustrating.
Thanks.  This was helpful and his taxes have been filed

The van is considered a vehicle and would fall into the 5 year property as the depreciable life. Be sure you are entering the van under vehicles and not other assets.   In the self employment section select 'Add more expenses'  Review the list until you see 'Vehicle' then click 'Add' to enter your van. Close this window, then Continue  The screen 'Here's your business info' will show 'Vehicle'.  Scroll to 'Vehicle' click Start/Update and make your entries. Be sure to select the correct weight of your vehicle and enter the date you started using this vehicle. Note: Keep in mind your car is still a taxable asset until it is traded, sold or disposed of in any way. Trade or sale is treated the same under tax law for the business portion of your car. Some things you must keep on hand until you do dispose of it. Total all of the business miles for the life of the vehicle Total all miles on the vehicle for the life of the vehicle Business miles divided by total miles = Business Use Percentage for the life of the vehicle Take the original cost of the vehicle x the business use percentage = Business Cost Take the sales or trade-in price x the business use percentage = Business Sales Price Calculate the following: If you used only SMR: all of the business miles by year with the rate in the SMR for depreciation (chart below) to arrive at the total depreciation considered used by the IRS; OR Total all of the actual depreciation expense used for the traded vehicle (see that information in the Vehicle screen

Agreed. Many times I like to or am forced to look at entries in the actual forms for different reasons. I wish we could see the form independently from the TT interview process, side-by-side. Right now it is an "either or" proposition, and then the inconvenience of it kicking you back to the beginning of the interview for that form is annoying.

I have a Collectibles gain reported to me on box 9b of form k-1.  I entered this number into TurboTax during the k-1 process.  The number did not end up going to line 18 of schedule D or to the schedule D worksheet.  How do I get the Collectibles gain to be included in my capital gain income on Schedule D?  It does not appear anywhere on my tax return.
I received a partial lump sum through KPERS in October of 2025 which is not subject to Kansas tax. My completed returns are incorrect showing unpaid taxes

Thank you, @MelindaS1    I do have another rental property, a vacation rental that was purchased several years ago. This is the only residential property I added on April 12. I just thought it was weird that it would generate two separate asset lines for this property. I had never seen Turbotax do that.   The vacation rental has its own asset summary page and it looks fine. Still scratching my head. I will go ahead and delete it.

If you have not yet filed your return, go back to the Wages and Income > Wages and Salaries section of your return to add another W-2.   If you have already filed and you need to amend your return to add another W-2, be sure that your return has been accepted by the IRS.  It is also best to wait until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund if you expected one.  Then, use the information in the TurboTax help article below to amend your return to add the W-2.  Be sure to also amend your state return since your income will be changed.   How do I amend my federal tax return for this year?
