If you want to change your HSA payroll contribution, you would need to do that through your employer. Is that the portal you're referring to?

Continuing the Star Wars theme, I think "This is the way." If this isn't fixed tomorrow I'm deleting my 1099-Qs and filing without them. Do I need to keep the 1098-T to show that our 22 year old is a full time student so qualifies as a dependent (for the $500 credit)?

When did they issue the update? I installed 2 updates at 9am this morning and deleted my 1099-Qs then put them in again and still no interview questions about qualified expenses.

When you enter your 1095-A in TurboTax, in Column C enter 600 (the amount you were reimbursed each month) if your form shows $0.

No, the vehicle has to be owned by you. Check with the leasing company; if they're receiving a credit they may pass some of that on to you.
Here's more info on the Clean Vehicle Credit.

We installed a new 4 ton unit, a 95% energy efficient furnace and a Low Global Warming Potential Heat Pump. The installer included the cost of parts, installation, and the units in one price. Do I need to call them and ask them to break it down by unit as it is divided up in Turbo Tax?

Oh, and it doesn't apply to us this year so I didn't see the question about July 4 2025, but that's the date the OBBBA (or OB3A) was passed that expanded use of 529 funds for things like apprenticeships, licensing exams, technical education, and I think K-12 education? So if you used it for college tuition and expenses like room and board for a college student in a degree program in the spring semester or a summer program, you're OK just like last year. https://www.blackrock.com/us/financial-professionals/insights/529-plans-and-the-obbba-what-you-need-to-know

Yes, if you never received any Advance Premium Tax Credit ($0 in Column C), then you shouldn't be getting any PTC back. Form 8962 must be calculating one for you, based on your income and the amount of your premium.
I would suggest that if your Column C is $0, enter the amount you were reimbursed each month by your HRA instead.

Hi Mary K4.... Does TT do the MAGI calculation and flag / advise if the Roth IRA contribution is in excess of IRS limits? If yes, does it calculate the actual amount in excess? I may have the same issue here for 2025, whereas my Roth contribution (in March for 2025), may be in excess of IRS limits according to my calculations. I plan to withdraw the excess from the Roth prior to 4/15/26. If I understand your advice here correctly, to correct on 2025 filing, you suggest: 1) Report in TT the contribution I made in March 2025 (contribution only), so it aligns with the form 5498 that the financial institution will send to the IRS. 2) To correct in 2025 filing, I should create a second 1099-R form (typed in manually) to show distribution of contribution + earnings from the Roth, and that should indicate 2026 as the year, with code P and J......however, as I am 65 years old, and have held the Roth for 5+ years, would code J really the correct code to enter in box 7? 3)After all 1099 R info is entered, I checkt he box that states this distribution is for 'Corrective distributions made before the due date of the return". 4) Subsequently, I disregard (do not report in 2026 filing) the 1099-R notice I will get in 2027 (for 2026 distributions), as the excess will be removed and reported (contribution plus earnings) in my 2025 filing. Thanks in advance for your confirmation & guidance.

Use the address that you want the IRS to use if they need to mail you a letter or a check. The old address on the W-2 is fine. The IRS is aware that people move.

Just think about it for a minute. You can’t deduct something you never included in your income in the first place.

I completed my 2025 Pennsylvania tax return and ran Turbotax's State review. TT says I have to fill in some missing information. TT took me to form PA-40 titled: "Gross Compensation Worksheet." TT states the following information is missing from column headings "T/S" and "PA Taxable Comp." Regarding the column heading T/S, there's a drop down arrow that gives you the option of selecting Taxpayer or Spouse and for the column PA Taxable Comp., requires some dollar amount. I'm at a loss as to where I would get this information. Furthermore, this information should have transferred from my Federal Return. So can anyone advise me on how to resolve these 2 issues? Thanks I looked at the Gross Compensation Worksheet form as part of my 2024 PA return and both columns were blank and I didn't have any unresolved errors. So why now?

Hello Intuit: When will these be available? Other, for CT and other states have similar issues. Clearly the States have completed their forms so why aren't they available?

Part IV of the Student Info worksheet says you can't enter information there (you can, but sometimes it gets changed). It says to use the People worksheet for the student instead - there's even a QuickZoom link to that worksheet so you don't have to scroll to the bottom of Forms to get there. I haven't had a problem with TT changing my information after I entered Room and Board in the student's People Worksheet. But you have to go to the Forms, which users are reporting is not possible in the Online version. There is no interview process asking about qualified educational expenses. There is supposedly a fix (for the desktop version? Or online as well?) coming out tomorrow.
