Pennsylvania filing question

I completed my 2025 Pennsylvania tax return and ran Turbotax's State review.  TT says I have to fill in some missing information.  TT took me to form PA-40 titled: "Gross Compensation Worksheet."  TT states the following information is missing from column headings "T/S" and "PA Taxable Comp."  Regarding the column heading T/S, there's a drop down arrow that gives you the option of selecting Taxpayer or Spouse and for the column PA Taxable Comp., requires some dollar amount.  I'm at a loss as to where I would get this information.  Furthermore, this information should have transferred from my Federal Return.

So can anyone advise me on how to resolve these 2 issues?

Thanks

I looked at the Gross Compensation Worksheet form as part of my 2024 PA return and both columns were blank and I didn't have any unresolved errors.  So why now?

Pennsylvania filing question

If you are looking in Forms mode and don't see a red error mark, it does not mean your return is ready for e-filing as that system is different. You could mail your return as-is but you want to e-file so you need to answer the questions.

New factors: PA introduced the Working PA tax credit and updated sch OC.  All money must be broken up by who earned it to determine if you qualify.

To answer the questions follow these steps:

  1. Since your form is blank, you are working in forms mode.
  2. The easiest solution is to switch back to step by step and review your federal income screens so they can be added to the form
  3. After that,  look at the form, it should contain all your PA taxable income.
  4. If you are a full year resident, all of your earned income should be listed for both spouses.
  5. Otherwise, it should indicate which spouse has taxable income and how much in the correct area of the form. It has areas for w2, 1099, retirement, etc.
  6. If the issue persists, select T and enter PA income, select S, enter PA income. You can look at your tax forms like state income on your w2 to help.
