I have a loss from a California S corporation reported on a K-1 (100S) form. The business is still domiciled in California, but I am not currently a California resident (and was not a CA resident for all of 2025). Am I correct in thinking that the California amount is the entire amount reported on the K-1, since the corporation is not registered in any other state (so does not do business in any other state)?

Error F1040-525-04 indicates the primary taxpayer's date of birth (DOB) on a tax return does not match IRS records. To fix, verify the DOB, correct it in your tax software, and resubmit. If the DOB is correct, the IRS records are wrong, requiring you to paper-file or contact the Social Security Administration (SSA).   Click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen.  Edit your personal information to verify your DOB If correct you will have to print and mail your tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online/01/26258?search-action-id=612128079722&search-result-uid=26258

Glad to see this conversation.  The explanations of transactions and timing make sense. Still, which entries are appropriate, particularly with Fidelity?  The 1099-B header fields list Total Proceeds, Total Cost Basis, Total Market Discount, Total Wash Sales, and Realized Gain/Loss.  Its 1099-B shows "The disallowed loss is included in the cost basis; therefore, it is calculated into the realized gain/loss."  So do wash sale values get entered separately?  Or they considered as entered as part of Total Proceeds + Basis?

Nevada doesn't have a state income tax. TurboTax may be asking about Arizona state tax if you entered income sources or addresses related to Arizona, such as a previous employer, rental property, or other income from Arizona. It could also be due to your tax return profile listing an Arizona address or residency in prior years. Check your personal information and income entries for any Arizona-related details. TurboTax requests state tax information based on states connected to your income or residence.

I am using Turbo Tax 2025 ONLINE version and it doesnt work.:   When i chose type as " rental estate property"; what type should i choose for "how would you further describe this?"   here's what I have  tried: #1 if I choose" "rental estate property" as asset category and I describe this as If i choose"rental property furnishing"; the result of life of amortization as"5 years" only. That is wrong as it should be 27.5 yrs (based on my last years records). #2 if I choose" "rental estate property"as asset category and i describe this as "Residential real estate"' i have to put the value land which is much higher than my cost of the renovation. teh i got red flag error message said" This value cannot exceed the cost paid for the asset" and i cannot move on from that point.   #3 : if I choose" "rental estate property"as asset category and i described this as If I choose" Land improvement"; the "life of amortization as 15 years".   is this problem due to ONLINE version of turbo tax? or for online and desktop/mac version will have the same problem?   thank you

You apparently purchased a desktop version since online versions are not sold anywhere. Any fees for using online services are paid when filing. Your purchase allows you to install the app on your computer - full pc or MAC but you need Windows 11 for PC or Sonoma 14 for a MAC  and your computer can not be operating in S Mode (windows computers only) .      if you want a refund contact support.

No one in the user forum can see your screen or your tax return so,  no, we cannot explain your unusually high refund----except to suggest that you re-check your own data entries and see if you entered something incorrectly when you entered income or tax withheld.   You might have added a zero, or might have used a comma instead of a decimal somewhere-- or in more than one place.   Start by double checking all of your own entries.

So how do I fix this? Why does TT think I want to make it deductible?   Has no one else faced this issue? TT is pretty much unusable if this is not fixed. I had to file all previous amendments, and now I will have to paper file, if TT does not allow me to correct it.   Please I want to fix this, and pulling my hair off for the last several days.

Thank you so much for trying to help me! Yes I am now a US citizen and Brazilian citizen. I am having a hard time finding where to input the info you describe here: "(a) you report your Brazilian income ( pension ) generally as a "foreign pension", no EIN/Tax id  for the  distributor. Taxable amount same as  distribution amount and distribution code "normal"--"7".  This is just to satisfy the software handling of a pension." I can't find where to put this. I always end up with the option as listing it as "foreign earned income", which I believe is the wrong type, correct?

Hello Troy_H,   Your suggestion worked.  Thank you!!!   Line 19 of the IRA Contributions Wks (Regular Roth IRA Contributions) had $7000 in it.  I guess "regular" means Roth Contributions in addition to the QTP-to-Roth Rollover.  If that is what "regular" means, then Line 19 should have been zero.  I don't know where TT got that "regular" information ($7000) from, and the "data source" for Line 19 is not available.  However, zeroing Line 19, as you suggested, fixed the QTP-to-Roth Rollover Limit Smart Wks, and all the lines and forms affected by this Wks.  Now, there is zero "excess" Roth contributions and zero "disallowed amount".  This changed the QTP-to-Roth rollover to nontaxable.   I just ran the TT error/smart check, and it did not flag any entries.  So, I'm ready to move onto states.  But I will check back on this thread a few more times and download updates during the next week to see if anything has improved.  Thanks again for your help!
