I had a question if this is considered converting $8000.00 using $0.0 of my own money since it was a non deductible contribution. I'm unsure of which option to select of the choices listed below. These are my options in turbotax online version to report roth conversion: Because $0.00 was withheld in taxes, you should only select Yes if you actually converted $8,000.00 using $0.00 of your own money. Yes, all of this money was converted to a Roth IRA No, I converted less than $8,000.00 Thanks for helping me figure this out.

I’ve been trying to use the Pay with Refund feature, but every time I get to the end, it says I am ineligible. No error codes, no explanation. I have been back and forth through the TurboTax forums, Reddit, and the TurboTax help AI, all with no success.
At first, the issue started with saying I was ineligible for the “5 days early” option. No problem at all, but then I went through and tried to do regular direct deposit, and it won’t allow it.
I’ve tried switching the accounts for direct deposit from my checking to my savings, to my other savings. I’ve made sure that the accounts match as well of course. My returns are more than enough to cover on both the state and federal side, combined or separately.
I’ve looked at all of the requirements for Pay with Refund and I meet all of them. I don’t understand why I am unable to use this feature.
The ONLY thing that I can think of that could be triggering it is that I had added some miscellaneous income to the “other income” section and then learned that it was non-taxable and did not need to be reported. I deleted the entry. The AI at one point said this would not be considered a manual override or manual change that would disable the Pay with Refund feature, and then at another point said that the exact opposite and that it WOULD.
The other thing that the AI help chat couldn’t give me a clear answer on was that a 1099-misc can sometimes cause issues in special circumstances. I have no special tax situations, but I filed a 1099-misc received for my state’s paid family/medical leave. I didn’t have to upload a copy of this form like the others, just input the information. I’m wondering if that is part of the issue?
Again, no special tax situations. I’ve been using TurboTax since 2017 and I’ve never had this problem before, so I’m really confused.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated, thank you!

They expect you to wait until you have a week left before they tell us they're not replacing it with any functionality. We're being strung along. If they intended on having the functionality, they'd have left the functinoality. You will almost certainly be entering your long list of charitable donations one by one but they'll have some tool to generate a value as you painstakingly enter items one by one, answering about 5 questions for each. I have zero hope that they'll release something with the functionality we are waiting for. That would be called "itsdeductible" and we know we're not getting that. Don't wait, ditch them. They don't deserve you. Request a refund. They're not getting any more of my money after 23 years.

There is no way to enter the New York deduction for union dues in TurboTax Online. It requires an entry that can only be made in forms mode. TurboTax Online does not have forms mode. Forms mode is only available in the TurboTax Desktop software.
In the TurboTax Desktop software, go to forms mode and open Form IT-196. The union dues that you entered in the federal return should be on line 21 of on Form IT-196. Open the Itemized Deduction Schedule Addition Adjustments form, or QuickZoom to it from Form IT-196 line 44. Enter the union dues on line 4 (item K) of the Addition Adjustments form. It will flow to Form IT-196 line 44 and will be included in the total itemized deductions on Form IT-196 line 49 and Form IT-201 line 34.
You can switch from TurboTax Online to the Desktop software without losing what you have already entered. See the following FAQ for instructions.
How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax Desktop?
Note that the deduction for union dues on the New York tax return is an itemized deduction. If your total New York itemized deductions are less than your New York standard deduction, your New York tax return will use the standard deduction and the union dues will not make any difference. If union dues are your only itemized deduction, it is not going to be enough to exceed the standard deduction.

You generally don't enter rent for an apartment on your federal return because personal rent isn't deductible expense at the federal level. If your state offers a renter's credit, TurboTax will ask about rent during the state portion of your return. Just continue through the state interview and look for questions about rent paid or renter credits. If you're not prompted to enter rent, it usually means your state doesn't offer a renter's credit or you meet the eligibility requirements.

I experienced the same issue of not being able to enter a credit card expiration date with a month of anywhere between 09-12 (Sep - Dec). It isn't accepted. Ridiculous! I used an alternate debit card with an expiry month between 01 (Jan) - 08 (Aug) as a way forward. Wouldn't your company like to be paid for services rendered?
