When did you file? It might take awhile. Did you efile or mail it? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails and spam/junk folder. How to check your efile status https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/electronic-filing/check-e-file-status/L9XhHDPtD_US_en_US?uid=lvriwl8j When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?

I have used Turbotax for years - primarily because it's easy to look back at prior years to get details on returns. I needed to look back at a 2024 return from Desktop Home & Biz 2024. Before I could view the return, it installed updates - then promptly asked me for my activation code. I found the code on Amazon but it won't take the code. Now I'm stuck and cannot look up the details inside the 2024 return. I'm on Windows 11. Did they need to update so that it would work on Windows 11? I don't think I had a choice about the turbotax update - they just went ahead and installed it. Is it because I had already used the activation code on my Windows 10 machine last year before I migrated to this new machine that it won't recognize the activation code? Any other ideas? This has rendered Turbotax useless to me in the long run if this is how it works now. Thanks for any help.

There were four members in the LLC established for the farm -- two were trusts and two are individual partners. One of the beneficiaries of one of the trusts died. My husband receives a Form 1065 and because of his brother's death, things were manually calculated this year. So instead of seeing numbers in Box 1, I now see them in Box 11. However, it doesn't seem like the income was added to our overall income. Seems like self-employment taxes were calculated as was QBI. But I am wondering why the income stream is reported as 0.

Hi MelindaS1, I know the Date Acquired is the Purchase Date but my broker did not provide that the Acquired Date. They said "These are payments made to the account that are 1099-B reportable but are not directly tied to the cost basis to the position. They are paid out based off the quantity held for the position at the time of payment and we do not supply either and open date or a cost basis allocation on these payments. " I am not happy about that so I had to go back to my statements and look for the Acquired Date. Thank you for your prompt reply and your help.

Yes. The 1099-MISC is used to report many types of income. If it is not business income, review your answers by selecting edit for the 1099-MISC.
You would need to select that it does not involve work like main job.
Select that it is only for 2025.

I'm using TurboTax Premier 2025 on Windows 11. I checked for updates today. I'm an Oregon full-time Resident working on Montana Form 2 with the Nonresident Status box checked. Reference the Montana TurboTax Form 2 Schedule II line 14: This line is to report additional income from Montana Sources. TurboTax includes income on Line 14 that is not from Montana Sources, making my taxable income too large. The Line 14 income is from Oregon state taxes included on Form 1040 Schedule A line 5a. I have not found a method to limit Line 14 to income sourced only from Montana.

Self Employment tax added to farm income even though we did not materially participate in running the farm, the crop shares you got as rent are farm rental income. The did not boxes are checked in the Schedule F and Form 4835. How can I delete it? Alternatively, could the Farm Income and Rental that I added be deleted s I can start again?

If you are looking at a summary screen or review screen those show the full amount as income and lump a lot of stuff together. You need to check the actual 1040 form and make sure it's right. Check lines 4b & 5b for any taxable amounts. For a rollover line b should be zero or just any taxable amount and for 2025 there is a new box 1 (under the Gross amount) that will be checked for Rollover. Did it ask you what y ou did with it? You need to say you moved it to another account. It might have asked if it was to a ROTH IRA. You should say no to that. Go back and edit the 1099R. Edit a 1099R under Federal Taxes Wages & Income Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) – Click Update or Revisit IMPORTANT: FYI - One thing to know is if you go back to edit or view a 1099R entry it resets all the answers to the default and you need to go though ALL the questions again all the way to the very end of the retirement section, keep continuing. They are right unless you go back.

Why is Turbo Tax telling me I have to file via mail return if I have 2 or more Form 2106? I have been able to do e-file with 2 or more forms in years past.

It appears that the qualifying questions weren't answered correctly, as indicated by the screenshot you submitted. Perhaps they weren't asked to begin with. Here is how to begin your amendment and then navigate to the qualifying questions.
Log In: Sign in to the same TurboTax account you used to file your original 2025 return.
Access Your Return: On the Tax Home screen, scroll down to the section titled "Your tax returns & documents."
Find 2025 and select Amend (change) return.
Click on Amend using TurboTax Online.
TurboTax will ask why you are amending. Since the IRS already adjusted your return, select the option: "The IRS or state sent me a notice" or "I need to change a form."
Go to Federal> Deductions & Credits.
Go to Your Home>Home Energy Credits select update or revisit
After you enter the report that you have an energy credit or carryover, say yes press continue to the next screen.
Select No this home is mine in the next screen. press continue
Next screen, indicate the home is in the US. This will satisfy Line 17a on the form you are showing.
Now review all the information you entered, including the address for the form.
Continue until you reach a screen that says Tell us more about the residential energy property. Here, mark all these with a yes answer.
Now finish out the section.
Now continue through until you see a screen that says Good news! You qualify for a home energy credit of $XXX...
Once you are done with the amendment, you should be able to efile it if you efiled your original return. You shouldn't need to print and mail it as you were originally advised. Your should print it however, just to have a record of it.
Note: If your credits are claimed for qualified energy efficiency improvements in 2025 like windows or doors, as you progress through the interview, you will be asked a question Are the energy-efficient improvements reasonably expected to remain in use for 5 years? Make sure you say "yes" to this question. This is the only area where you will be asked this question and will record your answer in 17C of your return. It isn't asked unless you reported that you made energy efficiency improvements.
