Yes, issue fixed. I installed the update and re-submit Fed return yesterday, after few hours, it was accepted by IRS.

The IRS does not require you to enter a drivers license to e-file, so you can skip past that screen.  Some states are very picky about having a DL or state ID, so you might not be able to e-file the state.  If you have a problem with e-filing federal due to your age, file them both by mail.   Print, sign and date them in ink, and mail them.   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I'm using Turbotax Premier 2025 on Windows. I am married filing jointly. I have two dependents. I did the Federal Taxes section and at the end had it review my entries. As expected it found some errors. I was able to resolve all of them except this one. I've tried searching online but haven't found any hits for this form field.   Check this entry Person on the Return Worksheet (dependent name): Enrollmentstatus [sic] must be entered   Form name: Person on the Return Keep for your records, 2025   In the first row the TP/SP Link box is highlighted. I can't type anything in the box. If I double click on it a new window opens.   Title: Link to Personal Worksheet Select an existing Personal Worksheet to link to Box Personal Wks (my name) Personal Wks (my wife's name)   Below box: 2/2 Copies Used buttons: remove link, link, cancel   I am unable to resolve this error. If I select either name in the Link To Personal Worksheet box and click Link, then continue, and repeat for the second dependent you'd think this would be satisfied. However, no change appears on the TP/SP Link box on the form. In addition, if you do another check these two appear as errors again.   I initially chose Done at the end of the Federal review because I couldn't resolve it. I think completed the State return and prepared to eFile both federal and state returns. However, Turbotax is doing another review right before transmitting the returns and it again brings up this error. At this point my options are either resolve the issue or change filing method.   What did I do to trigger this Person on the Return form? I don't remember that in previous years filing with Turbotax. Or is that new for tax year 2025? How do I resolve this error? I reviewed my Federal Taxes section in Turbotax, looked at different sections, but couldn't find an obvious one that is triggering this form or would provide the answer for this form. Matthew

Merci   Natalie

(A) I entered backdoor Roth contributions for both my wife and me.  They were entered correctly per other posts, and per how I did them last year.  I had no problems last year.     (B) This year, I now have RMD's from an inherited IRA, which I tagged as Inherited in TurboTax.   In case it matters, I have 2 other 1099-R forms: (C) a little Mega-Roth contribution (D) a little money moved from one 401k to another.   TurboTax is showing that I owe taxes on (A) + (B); I see this on line 4b in the 1040 Form.  According to my understanding of the law, I only owe tax on (B).    Is this a bug in TurboTax, or did I enter something incorrectly somewhere?    This is TT Home & Biz 2025 Desktop for Windows.   ~~~ Update I figured it out, with help from this post.  I had not entered them in as Traditional IRA Contributions (under Retirement and Investments). https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/back-door-roth-conversion-amount-comes-as-fully-taxable/00/2605693   TurboTax employees:  Would you please update this link below?  It is insufficient in that it says nothing of needing to enter "Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions" under "Retirement and Investments."  Thanks. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/retirement-benefits/enter-backdoor-roth-ira-conversion/L7gGPjKVY_US_en_US

No. It's important to file the amended return because you want to show your carryover to future years. And based on your information, the carryover may include some of the $3,000 you are allowed in 2025, if the income is too low to use it. This overall loss can be carried forward until it is used up. This means a lot of tax savings going forward. It won't be a lot of trouble. What is a capital loss carryover? @MelindaS1 is a tax expert and has provided the details for you to amend.   @freddytax

Update 2026-03-07 11:00 ET: Got on the phone again with a TT expert and the issue is still not resolved as of this morning on March 7th.  I ask the support person if they can provide an ETA (as the March 6th advertised date has since passed) and they were not able to provide one.     A message to TT management: If you are unable or unwilling to provide an update on WHEN this will be fixed, I have no choice but to switch and recommend folks switch to FreeTaxUSA. - Sincerely a TurboTax user since 2006.   Edited post with the update noted above.

I understand that when you amend an already filed and accepted return the indicator is supposed to reset to zero. When I attempt to amend a return (for a late 1099), the indicator resets to -$5,000.00 which I believe is related $5,000.00 portion of the adoption credit I am eligible for, because that is the only place on the entire return that the exact amount of $5,000.00 is listed (refundable credit amount from form 8839). If I complete the amended return it claims I am required $5,000.00 plus the taxes on the late 1099, but I if I create a brand new return I only owe the tax related to the late 1099. Please Help!

Thank you all for your suggestions. Calling the investment house several times netted no result, the Oregon tax board says it is not needed, and yet Turbo tax still counts it as an error on the return when I don't have it. Turbo Tax, is this an error on your part?  Do I just push the return through even though there is an error? thank you again
