This message in the "My Info" section is usually the result of one specific answer to the "Residency" or "Support" questions.
Here are the most likely reasons to check and how to fix it:
In the interview, there is a question that asks: "Did [Son's Name] provide more than half of his own support?"
How did you answer this? Yes means your son paid for his own life (rent, food, etc.), which automatically disqualifies him as a dependent.
If you supported him: Answer No.
To be a "Qualifying Child," he must have lived with you for more than half the year (7 months or more).
Temporary Absences: If he was away at college, that counts as living with you. Make sure you select "Whole Year" or the number of months he was both home and at school.
Newborns: If he was born in 2025, you must select "Whole Year" (even if he was born in December). The IRS counts a baby born any time in 2025 as living with you the entire year.
For the 2025 tax year, the age limits are strict:
Under 19: He qualifies regardless of school status.
Aged 19–23: He must be a full-time student for at least 5 months of the year. If you didn't check the "Full-time student" box, he will be disqualified.
Aged 24+: If your son is 24 or older, he can still be your dependent, but only if he made less than $5,200 in 2025 and you paid for more than half of his living expenses.

Hello, I see this was an issue last year as well. I need to file a corrected 1099-NEC for $0. When I attempt to do so via TurboTax, I am told the form is incomplete because there is no amount (even when I type in $0.00). Please help me fix this fast as I don't want my contractor double taxed.

There is nothing that you need to do other than enter your accurate date of birth. The enhanced deduction is included automatically.
The additional senior deduction enacted due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is not reported as part of the standard deduction on your tax return. Instead, you will see it included on Form 1040 line 13b.
Amounts shown on line 13b can be traced back to Schedule 1-A line 38 where the total Enhanced Deduction for Seniors is calculated.

There could be several reasons.
If you had state tax withheld, you could get the state tax refunded, so if the tax withheld for Maine was excessive, you would get the excess as a Maine refund
As a resident of Maryland, you need to claim all your income. Even if no Maryland state tax was withheld, you may be getting a refundable Maryland State credit, such as the Maryland Earned Income Credit.
These are just possibilities, it is impossible to say the true reason without looking at your return.
You can look your return over to see were the refunds are coming from.
To preview your Form 1040 Tax Return including your state returns, using TurboTax Online, please select Tax Tools on the left side bar, then TOOLS from the drop-down that opens
(you may need to play with the scroll bar on the left side to see these options)
Next, select "View Tax Summary" on the Tools Center Screen
On the left side bar you can find "Preview my 1040"
Select "Preview my 1040"
If using TurboTax Desktop, simply switch to FORMS located at the top right corner (left on MAC)

That is correct. Although there was the ability with some manufacturers to claim the Residential Energy Credit for the solar portion of the skylights, Velux has issued a statement saying they are not able to certify that their products are eligible for an energy credit. This means Velux products are no longer eligible for the credit.
"After a recent review of US tax law, we find that we are unable to certify that any solar powered skylight, accessory or related installation cost qualify under the Residential Clean Energy Credit 25(D). As a result, VELUX will refrain from promoting the IRS code section 25(D) as a consumer incentive."

You will likely have to amend your return and change it to the correct filing status. Once the IRS receives your return, it is not possible to cancel it to correct it or start over; you must wait for official acceptance or rejection. If it was accepted, you would have to amend it. This lets you to modify the information you need to add. If it was rejected, you will be able to correct the reason for the rejection and add the information you need. If your return is still pending, you must wait for one of these actions to occur. Here's an article on how to amend your return

Here are answers to your questions: Yes, requested to logon a second time to both Intuit and Schwab. All attempts were on separate days so everything had closed from before. Yes, so, did close the browser (Chrome) Was I in a browser? All of this was handled by TurboTax from their desktop system. Did not use incognito mode in the browser (Chrome). I can try that and will let you know. However, I have decided that Turbo Tax simply does not handle repeat downloads from the same financial institution properly. So, I will delete all accounts I already downloaded from Schwab and wait, wait, wait for Schwab to make all of them available at one time. Also, it would be nice if TurboTax did this by financial institution AND ACCOUNT NUMBER. On my dividend listings in TT, it just shows: Schwab, Schwab, Schwab - and the only way I know which account is to look at the dividend amount and compare with the paper 1099.
