We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
I'm guessing what you are seeing is actually your self-employment tax and your income tax together. Self Employment is 15.3% and you are likely in the 12% tax bracket.

You are correct in your understanding.  The Code J implies an Early distribution from a Roth with no known exception which is why the penalty is being assessed.  But since this is a timely withdrawal of earnings on an excess contribution to Roth, you can follow these steps to eliminate the penalty.   Go to Federal and Income in TurboTax online Find IRA, 401(k) and pension plan withdrawals - click Add/Edit then click Done Click Continue to get to a screen "Let's see if we can lower your tax bill"  Click Continue Hit the pencil icon to edit who may qualify for a penalty exception Select IRA, then Continue On "These situations may lower your tax bill", scroll down to "Corrective distributions made before the due date of return"  then enter the $ amount of the distribution of earnings reported on your 1099-R Once you take these steps, this will eliminate the penalty on the earnings distribution.

Hi! This year I'll be filing MFJ as a nonresident alien (NRA) spouse with my U.S. citizen spouse. My only source of income to be included in our joint tax return derives from thousands of day trading operations on a brokerage platform that does not operate in the U.S. and hence does not provide Form 1099 or any turbotax-friendly document. I do have detailed transaction records though.   How should I proceed? Would it be ok if I just manually report the total annual gain (using a random purchase/sale date as everything is considered STCG)? Would I have to input every single transaction individually (SOS)? Since the proceeds/cost basis are not reported to the IRS either, would I need to attach a printed copy of my records?

Some of my mutual funds are reporting Income in 2025 from Federal Obligations.  After importing the information from my brokerages consolidated 1099 forms, I carefully calculated and then entered these amounts for each fund.  However, the total amount is not showing up in my Colorado Tax return on form 104AD line 2 as it has in previous years.  And, it is apparently not being subtracted from my Colorado Income.  Is there some explanation for this?  If this is a Turbo Tax issue as I suspect-- is there a work around?

See About Publication 544, Sales and Other Dispositions of Assets to learn what to do and then it is reported on About Form 4797, Sales of Business Property.   You only want to use your % of business basis, % business deductions and % business sales price. It sounds like maybe a full price is being used in your calculations. Just use the business % for each business. Another idea: select that you converted the vehicle to personal use and then enter the sales percentages under other property sale for the business.
As a court appointed personal rep filing an original return for the decedent you should not need to file a 1310.
I am now able to download my 1099 into Turbo Tax. Issue appears to have been resolved.

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.  You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.  You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.  Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.   The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due  Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.  You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment  Select your product below and follow the instructions.  Amend TurboTax Online  Amend TurboTax CD/Download    @ItsMe-Jeremy

I'm using TurboTax Online 2025 for my business taxes. Everything is fine in my final review except for one item on my New York City S-Corp forms:   "NYC-4S, 1-2: Preparer Code does not match any of the preparer codes entered on the Preparer's Information Worksheet."   I can't get past this error to actually file my taxes, no matter what I try to enter in this Preparer Code box (which as far as I can tell is internal to TurboTax and doesn't even appear on the final printed form). A couple of TurboTax tax experts have suggested putting "10" in the box (employee of business), but that doesn't work. (By the way, I never saw a Preparer's Information Worksheet.)   I would just print the forms, mail them, and pay by check, except I believe I'm legally required to file this particular return electronically. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Were you able to get past it?
