The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO. You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)
The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction. It is shown separately.on line 13b.
2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS
SINGLE $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind +1600)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500 (65 or older/legally blind + $1600)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
(The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)
The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. Turbo Tax automatically includes it.

If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because
Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025
Your income is too high
You are filing married filing separately

The best place to confirm the status of your tax return is the IRS website Where’s My Refund .
We can not see your tax return, so we can't tell if it was done correctly or not.

If you are a non-married couple who live together with your child, then only one of you can claim the child(ren) and the one not claiming the child does not enter anything at all on their tax return about the child. The “sharing” of child-related credits you may have heard about is only possible between divorced or never married parents who live apart and share custody and who have a written agreement to share the credits. The child’s SSN can only be entered on one tax return. Any other return with the child’s SSN on it will be rejected. If you are a family, then work out how to share the refund between yourselves.
If you need to amend a past year return:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=m76mq6z2
Use a mailing service like certified mail to track so you will know it was received since you will have a long wait.
Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

My understanding is that you made a $5,800 excess Roth IRA contribution in 2020 that went unresolved until 2022 when you receive a distribution of the $5,800 excess (information from another of your questions). There was no recharacterization of this Roth IRA contribution. Given that you made no traditional IRA contributions for 2020 and no IRA distributions in 2020, there is no reason for your 2020 tax return to include a Form 8606 at all. The only thing that should be present is a Form 5329 Part IV reporting the $5,800 excess Roth IRA contribution, resulting in a $580 penalty.

If you received a Form 1099-G for a refund you received in 2025 for your 2024 tax return, when you enter the form you enter 2024 as the tax year. It was an over-payment of 2024 state tax.

@Garykl You needed to say Yes to the follow-up question if box 2a has a value in it..(not zero, not blank) ____________________________________ Unfortunately, the question in the interview is misleading for your situation... If your box 2a has a non-zero number in it..(not blank, nor marked as undetermined), and that number is somewhat lower than the box 1 number, due to an after-tax contribution amount that is noted in box 5...then edit that retirement form again, and when you get to the following page (below), answer it as-if the displayed edits were present (i.e. you needed to answer YES). Answering YES will use the box 2a $$ amount on your for 1040. Check lines 5a and 5b before and after entering that CSA-1099-R. (But if you answered No, and already entered some $$ in the "General" or "Simplified" calculation area ,you might need to delete your 1099-R first and re-enter it from scratch...not sure of that though) ______________________________

No.... This happens for me for the desktop version for downloading North Carolina state too. I can't finish my return. Bait & switch; Intuit is making it impossible to file also because of "hitting a snag." I've gone on my Intuit account to insure there's a credit card. I completely removed and reinstalled program. I've removed credit card an put in anew. I called support. After over an hour and multiple "hold pleases", I was told "just wait." It's now been weeks and NO SOLUTION !

Here is what I did to get rid of this annoying problem.. First, I made sure all of my 1099-Rs were entered correctly. (One was manually entered and one was imported) I then followed what SteamTrain suggested: "delete the form (trashcan) in the Canadian Pension area...but DO NOT Continue out of that page. Just jump to another area entirely by clicking a different section selection in the menu...like click on Deductions&Credits." I then did a Federal Review and TurboTax indicated I had no errors. I went back to the "Wages and Income" summary page and clicked the "Next Income Section" at the bottom right of the summary page. TurboTax continued on without problems and I was able to complete the Federal and State returns by the interview method and e-file without errors. I suggest once you trash can the Canadian form in the 1099-R section that you do not go back into that section. I think going back to the 1099-R section might re-trigger the Canadian form error. At least, that's my experience/suggestion.

3- Click start on Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E)
4-After answering a few questions about the type of Royalty Income you received, you will come to the "type of income you receive section." Since you were not issued a 1099-MISC you will choose Cash, checks, and electronic payments (like Square or PayPal).
