@penstruck What was your age at the end of 2025?   What is your filing status?    You get the senior deduction if you were 65 at the end of 2025----so look again at the date of birth you entered in Personal Info.   If you are filing married filing separately you do not get the deduction.  Are you filing a joint return?  Filing Single or Head of Household?     What is on line 13b of your Form 1040?

I mirror the request that Turbotax be updated to do a better job with the foreign tax credit. If using Safe Harbor Harbor allows a bigger credit than entering all foreign tax and its country sources, TT should make that choice available as it does for other tax situations. In the past, I have entered the countries from which I had foreign tax and the amounts, but TT kept cutting it off and not allowing me to enter all the numbers. Only later by reviewing the tax code did I realize that TT was reaching a limit on foreign tax allowed.  TT should indicate this and how does it know what any carryover is unless I am able to enter all the tax? Does it know this from my financial institution download? This section of TT needs to be improved. Please provide an update to software.

I will append this standard answer that I have developed over the years, because accidentally indicating that you have an excess is a common occurrence. If one of these does not describe your situation come back and talk to us:   In your case, my bet is the second item below, that she accidentally double-entered here HSA contributions.   ***   One of the purposes of the HSA interview is to determine your annual HSA contribution limit.   As you probably know, the maximum limits in 2025 are: $4,300 - individual with self-coverage $8,550 - individual with family coverage If the HSA owner is 55 or older, then you add $1,000 to these amounts.   However, these limits assume that you were in an HSA all year. If you left the HSA during the year or started Medicare or had one of a number of change events, then the limit is reduced.    There are several major culprits for excess contributions (other than just actually contributing more than the limit).    First, if you did not complete the HSA interview - that is, go all the way until you are returned to the "Your Tax Breaks" page - the limit still might be set to zero, causing a misleading excess contribution message.    There are questions all the way to the end of the interview that affect the annual contribution limit.   Second, it is not unusual for taxpayers to accidentally duplicate their contributions by mistakenly entering what they perceive to be "their" contributions into the second line on the "Let's enter your HSA contributions" screen.   Normally, any employee who made contributions to his/her HSA through a payroll deduction plan has the contributions included in the amount with code "W" in box 12 on the W-2. This is on the first line on this screen (above). Don't enter the code W amount anywhere on the return other than on the W-2 page.   Third, if you weren't in HDHP coverage all 12 months, then the annual contribution limit is reduced on a per month ratio. NOTE, this means that you have to indicate when and under what type of HDHP plan you had. Be sure to answer the questions on the screen entitled "Was [name] covered by a High Deductible Health Plan in 2025?".   Fourth, if you had a carryover of excess contributions from 2024, then this carryover is applied to 2025 as a reduction to the 2025 HSA contribution limit, which could cause an excess condition in 2025 as well. But note: if you had an excess contribution in 2024 but cured it by withdrawing the excess in early 2025, then do NOT report an "overfunding" on your 2025 return.   Fifth, the Family limit ($8,550) is for the aggregate of contributions by both taxpayers, even if both taxpayers have their own HSAs. That is, one taxpayer can’t contribute $8,550 to his/her HSA and the other contribute $4,300 to the other HSA – the $8,550 limit applies to the aggregate of all HSA contributions credited to the family (in this case, the excess contributions would be $4,300).

You first need to determine what the income associated with those codes is. "Gross OT" is likely your overtime pay. You can leave that entry off of your W-2 input. On a screen in TurboTax after you enter your W-2 information, you will see "Let's check for other situations" and one of the options will be "Overtime." Check that option and you will be prompted to enter your overtime pay and will be asked some questions about it.   I'm not sure what "TP" means, so you may need to ask your employer about that and post another question here so we can help you with that.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Once a tax return has been filed it cannot be changed, canceled or retrieved You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return. If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again. If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Were the distributions from your HSA (i.e,, the amount on your 1099-SA) all used for qualified medical expenses?   If so, is the amount on the 1099-SA appearing anywhere on your form 1 (1040)? It should not.   If your 1099-SA amount does not appear on your return as income (because it was all for medical expense), then your return is correct and you should have no concerns.   Where does it say "available now"? Can you give us a screenshot here, with any personally identifiable information redacted? I don't recognize "available now" as a TurboTax message.
