@Jeannette1 I agree the update process has been super frustrating this year with very poor communication. That said, I was able to update my rental property depreciation in TT online a few days ago and I successfully filed my taxes today. If you can't find it, look for the Assets section under Rental Income. I did have to fix an error in the real estate income calculation, so definitely double check your actual forms before filing, but you shouldn't have to do it manually.

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO. You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)
The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction. It is shown separately.on line 13b.
2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS
SINGLE $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750 (65 or older/legally blind +1600)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500 (65 or older/legally blind + $1600)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)
For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
(The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)
The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. Turbo Tax automatically includes it.

If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because
Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025
Your income is too high
You are filing married filing separately

Yes, you would report the income on schedule C as business income and only deduct the associated expenses that were ordinary and necessary to generate the income.

IS MY 2024 STATE OR LOCAL REFUND TAXABLE?
If you used standard deduction for your 2024 tax return, you do not have to enter a state or local tax refund you received in 2025. If you itemized deductions then your state or local refund that you claimed on the 2024 return----and received in 2025---must be entered as taxable income on your 2025 return. If you are not sure if you itemized for 2024, look at your 2024 Form 1040 line 12. Do you see the standard deduction amount or something else?
2024 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS
SINGLE $14,600 (65 or older/legally blind + $1950)
MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $14,600 (65 or older/legally blind + $1550)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $29,200 (65 or older/legally blind + $1550)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $21,900 (65 or older/legally blind + $1950)
If you need to enter the state or local refund — go to

Forms and schedules availability website - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

I had excess 403b contribution for 2025. Created a 1099R as instructed with box 1, 2a, code P and selected 2026. The result has the amount shown in 1040-1h but the "type" field is blank. Is this a bug and will it result in an audit since already filed?
Note: Google search suggested the words "Excess 403b contributions" should have been entered for the "type" of other income along with the amount.

Top Solutions to Fix the Startup Error
Repair Microsoft Visual C++: This is the most common fix. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, locate Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64), right-click it, select Change, and then choose Repair. Restart your PC after the repair is complete.
Run as Administrator: Right-click the TurboTax icon and select "Run as administrator" to ensure it has necessary permissions.
Reinstall the Program: If the repair does not work, uninstall TurboTax, restart your computer, and install a fresh copy.
Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Temporarily disable security software that might be blocking the program.
Check Windows Updates: Ensure your operating system is fully updated through the ONLINE link at the top
