"since I continued on a high deductible health plan," - so you did not go on any form of Medicare?
What is the error on your return?
You should not ask for the withdrawal of excess HSA contributions if you didn't actually have any excess. It is difficult for taxpayers to calculate the annual HSA contribution limit so it's good to let TurboTax tell you what the excess is.
How did you get an amount into line 12B if you never had an excess?
Never mind, please do an HSA Reset to remove all HSA data from your return so you can start the HSA interview over from scratch.
