Take a look back through this discussion where a rep from Intuit responded to me.  He told me to delete a form and it fixed my problem.  Hopefully the solution will help you too 🙂

No, you can either use various or RIC and report in just one category.  This is perfectly acceptable with the IRS and TurboTax despite your misgivings.
My daughter amended her return and was notified it was accepted by IRS. Does that mean I can refile my rejected return or do I wait until it says processed?

I am so sorry! The 1098-T is an informational form not a tax form. You can change the amounts on the 1098-T to reflect your reality. It is not like a w2 which must be entered exactly.

You can download your online TurboTax program to your computer so you don't have to re-enter all of your information. You will see an option for that on your left menu bar while working on your program in TurboTax. Look for the Tax Tools menu option, then Tools, then see the option on the right to  Save your (year) return to your computer.

Thank you for posting a reply, but it totally ignores my question, which indicates that I successfully imported my data from two accounts. It's just that the full amounts show in one place (a step by step screen), yet on the actual tax forms, data from only one account shows. I believe it's a bug.

Two things to take into account: 1. The order in which you enter the forms  can cause the issue. The program may be trying to hold some of the money for education credit, which would cause your issue. One solution is to delete the Q and re-enter it. Always enter the 1098-T forms and expenses before adding the Q. 2. If you have 1099Q forms that are not taxable, the IRS would prefer you not enter them. IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states that nontaxable distributions should not be entered.   Either way, always keep your Q, T and supporting documents.

Yes, it is. For your 2025 Illinois tax return, Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) remains a valid High Impact Business (HIB) located in a federally designated Foreign Trade Sub-Zone (Chicago/Sub-Zone 22). Walgreens Co. (the primary subsidiary) currently has an active FTZ status through at least December 31, 2026.   To enter into TurboTax.   Open your Illinois State return. Proceed through the interview until you reach the screen titled "Take a look at Illinois credits and taxes." Scroll down to the section labeled "Business and Investment Credits" (usually near the bottom). Look for a topic titled "High Impact Business within a Foreign Trade Zone (or sub-zone) Dividend Subtraction" or "River Edge/High Impact Business Dividend Subtraction." Click Start or Revisit. TurboTax will ask for the company details. Enter the following: Corporation Name: Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. Zone Name: Chicago / Sub-Zone 22 Dividend Amount: Enter the total dividends you received from WBA (from your 1099-DIV). Although, these dividends will be subtracted from your illinois state return, they are fully taxable on your federal return.

Answer "Yes" to the question "Did you receive any lump-sum payments?" in TurboTax. Answering "Yes" does not double-count your income; instead, it triggers a special IRS calculation known as the Lump-Sum Election, which can actually reduce your tax bill.   When you receive a lump-sum payment for a prior year (like the 2024 windfall repayment received in 2025), the IRS requires the full amount to be reported in the year you received the check. However, they allow you to use the "lump-sum election" method to prevent that large payment from pushing you into a higher tax bracket.   TurboTax uses the total from Box 3 as your starting point. When you select "Yes," the software will ask you to break down how much of that Box 3 amount was for 2024. It then recalculates your 2025 tax as if that portion had been received back in 2024.   If your income was lower in 2024 than in 2025, or if the lump sum would make more of your Social Security taxable this year, this election ensures you only pay the amount of tax you would have owed if you had received the money on time.   TurboTax will run the numbers both ways—taxing it all in 2025 versus using the lump-sum election—and will automatically apply the method that results in the lowest tax for you.   To complete this section accurately, have your 2024 Tax Return handy. TurboTax will ask for: The specific portion of the 2025 payment attributed to 2024 (found in the Description of Amount in Box 3 on your SSA-1099). Your 2024 Filing Status. Your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Any Tax-Exempt Interest you reported in 2024. Follow these steps to ensure the election is applied: In the Social Security (SSA-1099) section, enter the full amounts exactly as they appear on your 2025 form. On the screen "Did you receive any lump-sum payments for 2024 or earlier?", select Yes. Enter 2024 as the year the payment was for. Enter the amount designated for 2024 from your form's description. Follow the prompts to enter your 2024 return data. Once finished, you can verify the result by viewing your 1040 (select Tax Tools > Tools > View Tax Summary > Preview my 1040). You will see a checkbox on Line 6c indicating the Lump-Sum Election was used.

Aha!  I suspect u may be right and that it's a vestige that is hanging around for the Max version.  Based on the fact that XX was not flagged in the single state 1099-INT, but in the 8-state 1099-INT, I think I'll edit the form entry from MX to XX and see whether that gets me past Smart Check.  The total for the 8-state is correct.   Thank you in advance for your persistence, SteamTrain.  Much appreciated!  Ed

Has it been more than a day or two since your IL return was accepted? Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0
