@MikeKillor56 Thanks. Nope, didn't visit or check anything having to do with education/expenses. I even double-checked the Topic List to make certain. Apparently this form is something new this year for everybody, which is nuts since it is very specific to a narrow set of circumstances. For most people it will be blank. Seems either poor software programming or else this worksheet has some other/future purpose...

Thanks you. Why is TurboTax asking for our estimated tax filings for our EIN then? It asked the same for Federal and wouldn't stop saying we owed 10k in taxes until I also put my 1040-ES into it as well. If this is just for personal income then it asking for this information is unnecessary.

Thank you for the feedback and follow up. It's possible it will go through, however if the opposite does occur, I would advise to delete the form and reenter, and please update here if you would.

You can enter as a Multi Family Unit.
Multifamily properties house more than one family, and each family lives in a separate unit. Tenants may all live in one building or in several buildings within one complex. Generally, these units have a common wall, floor, or ceiling, and each has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom(s), and address.

The IRS asks for them separated. You may just need to estimate.

However, I would take the steps to walk through it, not necessarily delete it, then file again. @DianeW777 I did as instructed, didn't delete the existing 5695 form and walked through all the Home Energy Credits section again. I then went straight to file and clicked View Return so that I could be certain the issue was fixed. The issue is NOT fixed, at least the one I know about. See attached screenshot. Box 25a is still not being checked NO as per my answer online which is the the exact reject reason I received the first go round. I am not confident the issue is fixed as this seems like a reject will still follow.

Is there a more specific type of income that is being flagged, or a more detailed error message that we could help interpret?

We sold our rental property on Jan. 15, 2025. The property (a 2-family residence) was purchased on Oct. 8, 2013 for $350,000, required about $150,000 in renovations, and was sold for $850,000. We used TurboTax for most of those ten years. We are using the TurboTax program which we purchased at Sam's Club (I am not sure if that is referred to a TurboTax ONLINE or TurboTax DESKTOP). We are unable to follow TurboTax 2025 for the capital gains. There is no direction under RENTAL PROPERTIES AND ROYALTIES. I have tried multiple times....but cannot find SALE INFORMATION. What are we doing wrong?

You have to pay your tax liability by April 15 to avoid penalties and interest. There is no way to “take it out of taxes”.

You can pay the federal taxes owed by using this IRS payment website - https://www.irs.gov/payments
If you pay the taxes owed on the IRS website, then in the File section of TurboTax select to pay the taxes owed with a mailed check. Then e-file your tax return and do not pay by check.
