@Don-TT @DawnC @JamesG1 Be very careful. As of today, TT Desktop Premier has a serious bug related to data imports. Say you already have two 1099s in your data file. Call them 1099A and 1099B. You already made some changes to 1099A - for example updated a stock's tax basis. Now your  financial institution revises 1099B and you go to import ONLY the revised 1099B again. As of today TT does not allow you to do this. It will either DELETE the existing 1099A and the existing 1099B, or not import anything. Lots of discussion in other forums, many people up in arms about this behavior and no fix from TT yet. Several suggestions from TT 'experts' are well intentioned but none of them are relevant or applicable. As of today, the only way is to MANUALLY update the revised 1099B and NOT USE the TT data import a second time.

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser. Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s? Yes.  If you qualify. If eligible you will find this on Schedule 1-A Part V and line 13b of your form 1040. TurboTax will automatically calculate it based on your date of birth and your income.  There is not a special section or box to check.  Just enter your correct information and TurboTax will take it from there.     For Tax Year 2025 through 2028, seniors may claim an additional deduction of $6,000 per taxpayer over 65.  This is NOT a refundable credit.  This is a deduction of your income.  If your income is above $75,000 ($150,000 if Married filing jointly) the bonus deduction decreases by $.06 for every dollar over the relevant amount.  This deduction is available whether you itemize or take the standard deduction. If your filing status is married filing separately you are not eligible for this deduction. This bonus deduction is ONLY for those who were 65 or older as of December 31, 2025, it does not apply to those who are blind and under 65

Have you entered a self-employment activity in Schedule C?   Or have you entered an IRS form 1099-NEC and told the software that you received the payment for consulting work?  Please clarify.   If you have entered an IRS form 1099-NEC, the IRS presumes that the income is subject to self-employment.   The software wants you to establish a self-employment activity in Schedule C.  Then deposit the IRS form 1099-NEC income into the self-employment activity.   To report income and expense under Self-employment income, follow these directions.   Down the left side of the screen, click Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Self-employment. Click to the right of Self-employment income and expenses. At the screen Your 2025 self-employed work summary, click the pencil icon to enter the self-employment activity. Answer the questions to establish the self-employment activity and report the income and expense.

if you're having issue after doing aa new return, "Begin" and then trying to transfer the .tax2024 file - a lot of people report the "Continue" button just gets stuck - instead of starting a return that way, go to File / Open Tax Return and open the .tax2024 file, Turbotax will recognize it is from prior year and ask to transfer it into a new return, and this has usually worked cleanly.
Can you please clarify whether the T4s are or are not from the same province?

2024 line 8 should be blank, that 8606 sounds fine   your understanding of the outcome is correct, this was a 2024 contribution and the conversion is reportable in 2025 tax year and you should end up paying tax just on the $1.62 earnings included in the conversion (I think will round down to $1).   but what is on your 2025 8606, sounds like line 8 is blank there.  You should see the $7000 basis carryover on line 2, mailing the 8606 shouldn't matter if you input the carryover basis.   good suggestion from @AnnetteB6 to walk through the Trad IRA section if not done so (did you do a 2025 contribution yet?) to see if that triggers the differently outcome on 8606.

@user17720279755  The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/04/2026   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
