do you know if I should also override the "payments and withholdings" amount? TurboTax autofilled this to the subtotal before AGI for TABOR.

There may be two things to enter about the new car---car loan interest and sales tax.   CAR LOAN INTEREST Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Cars and Other Things You Own>Car Loan Interest The amount will go on Schedule 1a and end up on Form 1040 on line 13b   SALES TAX You can enter the sales tax you paid for the car you purchased in 2025 by going to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid> Sales Tax.  You will be asked if you paid sales tax on a major purchase, and you will be able to enter the sales tax you paid for your new vehicle.    Sales tax is an itemized deduction.  Unless you have enough other itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction the sales tax will have no effect on your tax due or refund.   “Major purchases” that you can enter for the sales tax deduction include: Motor Vehicles (cars, trucks, motor homes, RV’s, sport utility vehicles and off-road vehicles Aircraft or boats Mobile homes Manufactured housing Building materials for major home improvements You cannot deduct: furniture, jewelry, home electronics such as TV’s or computers     As for the hot water heater----certain kinds of hot water heaters may qualify for an energy credit.   Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Your Home>Home Energy Credits

Google's AI overview provided the exact solution I was looking for. This seems like a known issue with TurboTax where even after indicating that I didn't have an HDHP plan for tax year, it still forces you to select plan type.   The fix to handle TurboTax's "No HDHP" errors per the Google AI overview (which is Gemini) is that even though I had no HDHP plan, I should select "Self" and then marking "None" for all the months in subsequent detail screen. This is a known common workaround and used in past by many users.

Still not working despite a combination of restarting, install/uninstalling, updating, manual updating which took many days and hours. Still faced Validation Error Code 54.    Not worth the effort with many hours wasted just on this one return with many more to go. Will evaluate whether to use TurboTax Business again for next year. Very disappointed.   Going paper file instead.

Using Turbotax 2025 Premier  I've been attempting to transmit my return for the past few hours and am getting the following error:   "We're experiencing Internet transmission problems. Your transmission didn't go through. Intuit's Electronic Filing Center did not receive your return(s)."    Problem is not with my internet connection since I can leave this message on your site. All my other apps work fine. Running Win11. Turbotax has been updated to latest available download.   How can I fix this and transmit my return?
Have you received any response for a fix or update? I'm having the same issue

No, unfortunately, having a child is not a exception from paying taxes on your early 401(k) withdrawal.   However, you can take a withdrawal of up to $5,000 per child for expenses associated with birth or adoption penalty free.  Additionally, you can exempt medical expenses (over 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI)) that you incurred during the year from the early withdrawal penalty.   To summarize, you have to pay income taxes on the withdrawal but some (or all depending on how much you withdrew) will be exempt from the 10% early withdrawal penalty.   Here is some more information: Are there exceptions to the early distribution penalty on an IRA?
