Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    The IRS Where's My Refund site will not take into account the 5 days early, but if you signed up for the 5 Day Early product, you should receive your refund deposited 5 days prior to the date indicated by the IRS, assuming all conditions are met.   For more information click on the link below 5 Days Early Option   If you don't get your deposit 5 days early, there is a few reasons why that might happen.   Your refund was offset or differed from their estimated refund amount, bringing the refund amount below the minimum threshold or above the maximum. What is a refund offset? Your bank wouldn't accept RTP (Real Time Payments) or Same Day ACH deposits, preventing Intuit from depositing your refund 5 days ahead of when the IRS would have deposited your refund. The IRS didn't give Intuit 5 or more days of notice in advance. This stopped Intuit from meeting the 5 days early expectations. If TurboTax is unable to deliver the refund 5 days early, your order will be canceled and you won't be charged the 5-Day Early fee. You will receive a follow-up email with a refund and timing update, and if any cancellation is applicable.

I am using Turbo Tax 2025 Deluxe.  I have a 1098 statement.  The statement shows interest for a home equity line of credit secured by my 2nd home to help purchase my new main home in September 2025  (I sold my previous main home to my son).   The IRS rules are such that the interest paid on this HELOC should not be deductible.  The 1098 I received has interest shown in box 1.  Box 2 shows an outstanding principal of $0.  This is ok (expected) because this was the outstanding principal of the HELOC on January 1, 2025.  It is not the outstanding principal on December 31, 2025.    When I enter the numbers in TurboTax as shown on the 1098 and answer all the questions in TurboTax correctly and honestly, the program is allowing the full deduction for interest in Box 1.    This is wrong and will result in underpayment of taxes per the existing IRS rules.    Now if I alter the amount in box 2 of the 1098 to $1, TurboTax disallows the entire amount of the interest deduction which is the correct outcome.   In fact, it will disallow the deduction no matter the amount entered for Box 2 as long as it is not zero.    I think your software has an issue which should be corrected ASAP.
This is a display issue only. The information is on your forms. This will be corrected in the next update.

TurboTax does not get updates from the IRS.  TurboTax will always just show that your e-file was accepted.   TT never knows if the IRS approved of your refund or if the refund was issued to you.  Once you file your tax return, only the IRS is in control and only the IRS has any information.

There are a variety of reasons that'd cause you to need Schedule 1 on your tax return.  The following are some examples that'd require Schedule 1 to be attached:   If you had business income If you had other income such as: Gambling income Cancellation of debt Net operating loss Prize and awards If you're adjusting your income for: Educator expenses Retirement contributions HSA contributions Deducting your portion of Self-employment (SE) tax. These are just a few examples of why Schedule 1 would be needed.  Here's a link to the Form itself; Schedule 1, Additional Income and Adjustments to Income

This is now fixed but you will need to follow these steps to generate the form and/or fix your rejection:   Sign in to your TurboTax Online account and select Fix my return. Select Federal from the left menu, then Deductions & Credits. Scroll down to Charitable Donations and select Revisit next to Donations to Charity in 2025. You must review each non-cash donation entry. For any donation or group of similar items over $500, ensure you have provided: The organization's name and address. A description of the property. The date you acquired it and how (e.g., purchase, gift). Your cost or basis and the Fair Market Value (FMV). Once you provide these details, TurboTax will automatically generate Form 8283.   If the form still does not appear in your Tax Summary: Go to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a form. Check if there is a "ghost" Form 8283 or Charitable Contribution Worksheet that is blank. Delete it. Go back to the Donations section and re-enter the details for the specific high-value items. This forces the software to re-trigger the form creation. Once corrected, proceed to the File section to resubmit your federal return.
Not Merrill Lynch problem   Turbo Tax needs software FIX ASAP.
If you did not receive any type of income of any kind in 2025 then there is no need to file a 2025 tax return.

The 1099-Q is  only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your (or your student's) tax return. The interview is complicated (even back when it was workig) and it's easy to make mistakes. Avoid it if you can and you probably can.  You can just not report the 1099-Q, at all, if your student-beneficiary has sufficient educational expenses, including room & board (even if he lives at home) to cover the distribution. When the box 1 amount on form 1099-Q is fully covered by expenses, TurboTax will enter nothing about the 1099-Q on the actual tax forms. But, it will prepare a 1099-Q worksheet for your records (you don’t need it). You would still have to do the math to see if there were enough expenses left over for you to claim the tuition credit. You also cannot count expenses that were paid by tax free scholarships. References: On form 1099-Q, instructions to the recipient reads: "Nontaxable distributions from CESAs and QTPs are not required to be reported on your income tax return. You must determine the taxability of any distribution."  IRS Pub 970 states: “Generally, distributions are tax free if they aren't more than the beneficiary's AQEE for the year. Don't report tax-free distributions (including qualifying rollovers) on your tax return”. "IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states: If the entire 1099-Q went to qualified expenses, room and board, tuition, etc; then, you do not need to enter the form."
