Still have two dependents who live majority with me. Still pay well over 50% of their expenses. I don't understand this change and there's no explanation that I can find.

The 5 e-filed are only if you are using the TurboTax desktop editions.   When using the TurboTax online editions you can only file one tax return per account and User ID.  For another tax return you would need to create a new account with a new User ID. Go to this TurboTax website can click on Sign up at the top right of the page to start creating a new account - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/file-your-own-taxes/

I've been using TurboTax for years! However, this is my first time using TurboTax Online option which was offered as I was installing the software on my computer. I can't find how to add a new e-file for another other household member, just I was able to do with the Desktop version in previous years. The TurboTax Premier I purchased from Costco states it includes "5" E-files. I just can't figure out how to add a new e-file for another household member. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Hi, in Turbotax 2025, when entering about which months I had HSA coverage, there's a typo saying 2024 instead of 2025.  Please correct this, as it's confusing. Page header is 'Let's review what type of coverage Jordan had in 2024', this should say 'Let's review what type of coverage Jordan had in 2025'; note, the page before this is 'What type of HDHP coverage did Jordan have during 2025?' which shows the correct year.

Disappointing.  I have used TurboTax for over two decades.  This is the final star.  How do they remove key functionality and not provide an alternative?   I am moving to a competitor.  Will save money and while I doubt Intuit cares they will no longer receive my money.

I am not sure if this is same issue, when   I transfer my 2024 to 2025 I do not see any of my 2024 numbers.  Example, none of my 2024 numbers for deduction and credit have been transferred.

DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
I have an existing payee who in the past received a 1099 MISC, how do I change the form type to NEC. The NEC checkbox is grayed out and I do not see any way to edit the form type.

If you were legally married at the end of 2025 your filing choices are married filing jointly or married filing separately when you prepare your 2025 return.   Married Filing Jointly is usually better, even if one spouse had little or no income. When you file a joint return, you and your spouse will get the married filing jointly standard deduction of $31,500 (+ $1600 for each spouse 65 or older)  for 2025. You are eligible for more credits including education credits, earned income credit, child and dependent care credit, and a larger income limit to receive the child tax credit.    If you choose to file married filing separately, both spouses have to file the same way—either you both itemize or you both use standard deduction. Your tax rate will be higher than on a joint return.    Some of the disadvantages of filing separately include:    You cannot get earned income credit,  You cannot get education credits or deductions for student loan interest.  You cannot get the childcare credit You have a lower amount of income on which to base the refundable additional child tax credit 85% of your Social Security benefits will be taxable even with no other income  The amount you can contribute to a retirement account will be limited. Capital loss deduction is less than if you file jointly You cannot get the $6000 senior deduction You cannot get the deductions for overtime or tips    If you live in a community property state, you will be required to provide additional information regarding your spouse’s income. ( Community property states:  AZ, CA, ID, LA, NV, NM, TX, WA, WI) and your returns become very complicated.    If  you are using online TurboTax to prepare your returns, you will need to prepare two separate returns and pay twice since with online, you get one return per fee.     https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/marriage/should-you-and-your-spouse-file-taxes-jointly-or-separately/L7gyjnqyM?srsltid=AfmBOopGqCNexowW0pYgvsf7ycIkrx4VjO_63UXv6vSnfu3UEGQiKQTh   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/income/getting-married-mean-taxes/L2RgmagpE_US_en_US?uid=m69on7t0     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/married-filing-separately-community-property/L11CeLUMs_US_en_US?uid=m69ousyh

Yes, I experienced this problem yesterday and posted something similar to your post. If I enter the actual purchase and placed into service dates (9/29/2025 and 10/21/2025), Turbotax says I'm not eligible for the credit. If I change the placed into service date to 9/29/2025, Turbotax calculates the credit correctly.   I'm surprised that Intuit didn't get this right on the first try since the IRS guidance is very clear that eligibility is based on purchase date but seems like it should be an easy fix to correct this in the software. Did they give you any estimate for when this will be corrected?

Identify Exception: When prompted about early withdrawal penalties, indicate that an exception applies. Select "Other" or "Another reason" to enter the amount, as a specific "birth/adoption" code might not be listed in the dropdown. Enter Amount: Enter the amount of the distribution that qualifies (up to $5,000). File Form 5329: The software will use Form 5329 to report this exception to the IRS, exempting the amount from the 10% penalty. Documentation: You may need to keep records of the birth or adoption (e.g., birth certificate) in case of an IRS audit.
Its Deductible was eliminated -- sorry.
