It depends, but this often occurs because a specific state form is not yet ready for electronic transmission. State departments of revenue frequently finalize their systems after the IRS, meaning TurboTax must wait for the state's final approval before it can send your data. If your return includes one of these pending forms, you will be unable to e-file until the state releases the official electronic version.

Thank you! My 1099-MISC has box 3 (income) but how do I report the amount in box 4 (federal income tax withheld?
I have the same problem.  There is no form or reference to Canada anywhere I can find.  I updated TT today.
You enter the HOA fees as an expense to report it correctly on your Schedule E.  You do not enter net income, you enter the gross income and expenses and TurboTax will calculate the net income.

Thanks for your very helpful response. Too bad that I can't file electronically. I may see if I can file electronically in Maryland using iFile (https://interactive.marylandtaxes.gov/Individuals/iFile_ChooseForm/default.asp) to speed up the process. Of course, I'd then have to re-enter everything from TurboTax.
Ooops....edited-in the link to the TTX  Manual Update for windows user in my post above

I could use some help with my 1098-T, specifically box 5. Box 1 shows $6,412 and box 5 shows $270 due to a grant. My employer contributed a total of $6,142. $5,250 were tax free (the school directly billed them) and the remaining $892 was reported on my W2. I checked both prompts (shown below) and when asked I enter $5250 as the tax free amount and $892 as the W2 portion. However, I get an error when the system is checking my tax return stating $5250 is greater than box 5.  How would I go about clarifying/adding in the amount my employer covered (tax free) as well as the amount reported on my W2?
I entered all my information correctly but it states I dont qualify because someone else can claim me. I am head of household.

If your 1099-R has a Code T in Box 7, it is being reported as a non-taxable Roth distribution, so you may have few or no follow-up questions.  This is sufficient for the IRS.   However, you do need to enter the form into TurboTax, or then you may have an IRS inquiry.   Here's more info on Codes in Box 7 and on Form 1099-R   @Bellbass

@battleborn27    I'm lost...but...maybe:   1)  IF on a Windows computer, a new Windows OS update was issued this week.  IF partially-installed, that is known to block some TTX functions.  Check to ensure it is fully installed and then reboot.  (heck...reboot in any case.)   still a no-go? 2)  Again, if on Windows computer...download and run the "Manual Update"   (it is slow, so be really patient) Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software ..........then try again.   Can't think of much else.....maybe rt-click on the TTX 2025 icon and select  "Run as Administrator" ?? _____________________ MAC computer?  Not much to do. Just reboot computer, and make sure you've run your software updates.

You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return. If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again. If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk   To enter, edit or delete a form 1099-R - Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business) Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown) Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button
You will have to amend your tax return to report the income.  See How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS - TurboTax.
Does anyone have insight on how to attach a statement to a form to return? Specifically, I need to add a statement for Form 8283 on Charities since we efile.

It may be that you are receiving the standard deduction this year because of the standard deduction increase because of OBBBA. As a result, if the standard deduction was the best deduction for you, your medical and dental expenses were not reported. If you take a standard deduction for federal income taxes, you take it for Massachusetts income taxes.   If you don't itemize on your Federal return, Massachusetts (by default) removes your eligibility for the medical deduction on Schedule Y. That is why the information doesn't show up.

What if my friend has mailed in her 2025 tax form and irs has not yet processed her return. Can she go ahead and e-file it or amend it to take out a dependent? Or does she has to wait til the irs has processed her return in order to amend it? Or can she go ahead and take the dependent out without amending and mail the tax forms again? What is the best option or can she do those said in the questions? Thanks.
