As I mentioned in my previous post, I am going ahead with my assumption about reducing my Federal Interest based on the accrued interest I paid for these US bonds. Now I ran into another problem. While doing my CA taxes I see that TT subtracts a smaller amount from my interest than the adjusted federal interest. I tried clicking on Line 1, Column B on the CA Interest and Dividend Adjustment Worksheet, but this does not link me to anything (which is annoying). Can anyone explain this?
I re-filed today and it was accepted

Hello, I have might be a unique situation with my Roth IRA. For tax year 2024, i contributed entire 7000$ to my Roth IRA, thinking that my income will be less that the AGI. But while calculating my taxes, looks like i can only contribute 1300$ for year 2024 based on my calculated MAGI. So, as anyone would have done, i withdrew 5700$ excess contributions + earnings in March 25th 2025 (before tax deadline), thereby making the contributions as 1300$ of 7000$ for 2024. However, my earnings were good during my 1st withdrawal and this got added to the income for that year and pushing the MAGI amount even more. Now, i can't even contribute 1300$ to that year as well (unlucky), So i again withdrew that excess 1300$ + earnings. Here's the situation, how can i report this to IRS? 1) Do i submit 2 2025 1099-R before tax deadline (Apr 15 2025)? While i have positive earnings during my 1st withdrawal, but have negative earning during the second one. How can i report this? Do i even have to do submit 2 forms? 2) Do i wait for 2026 and file an amended 2024 return based on whatever my institution sends me? Thanks in Advance.

I'm working on filing estate taxes (form 1041). I received a 1099 R from an inherited retirement account. The only place I have found to add the 1099R numbers is in the  "other income or loss" section. I've added the distribution amount there. The issue I'm having is that federal and state taxes were withheld from the distribution, and I cannot find out how to input that into the program. Any guidance? Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. After an hour and a half on the phone talking to a customer service representative who had no clue of what the problem was, I found your post. I told him the error report file# that you posted, and after a while, he came back and said that he found the error report, but the file number is actually 1351-5812-1098-1097-472 (and not 471). He said that he had included my email in the file so I will get an email notification when the problem is fixed. I can’t believe that TurboTax has not fixed this problem. I will patiently wait until late April, and if the problem is still not fixed, I will have to use some other software to file our 2024 tax returns. What a bummer!

When you pick a date for the government to make a withdrawal, that is the earliest they can withdraw. Depending on the government, it can take up to 3 weeks to actually process and come out. TurboTax has nothing to do with money being withdrawn, we just send the information.    Instead of waiting on them to make a withdrawal, you can tell the program that you will mail the voucher and then make the payment online. That requires more work but because of the way you clearly stay on top of things, that process might work better for you. failed 2024 program updates today for many time, can i reload the 2024 version again in the same computer to fix the problem?
I just need to know how I should file. I know I need to get paperwork updated through my work but haven't done that yet.
Why do you need to reinstall it?  Have you tried updating?  Doing a manual update? If your program says it's up to date or you can't update it then do the Manual Update for Windows https://ttlc.int... See more...

Hello NCperson;   Upon further investigation, I came across the IRS instructions for Form 8889 (HSA) and in that document is a worksheet called "Line 3 Limitation Chart & Worksheet". That worksheet walks thru how much I could contribute each month to an HSA. In any month that I am covered by Medicare, that amount is 0.   In a year where I had a high deductible plan in the whole year, I could make the entire yearly allowable amount in one month, or spread it out over 2 or more months. Same is true if I was only eligible for an HSA for 9 months.   Sincerely; Michelle
You should not have received a form for zero income. What are you trying to enter?
There aren't any Asset Worksheets in my list of Forms. Is there someplace I can look to find the worksheet?
It is reported on the federal sch A as a total of the properties so that is fine. It is always good to keep your records so you can identify which numbers came from where.
reload the turbotax 2024 to the same computer, do i need to remove the original 2024 version first?

Any update on this? Did anyone try to re-file today and it worked?

I did not receive that kind of payment and it isn't on my W-2 or K-1.  I didn't enter it anywhere.  Looks like TT just inserted it.
