Seems illogical because the Tax Credit is an incentive , I could have purchased a Heat-pump for the Furnace - to use more electricity, and a Heat-pump Water heater to use more electricity .. and got the credit for both even though I would use more electricity. Hmmm.

I'm using Home & Business and it's giving me a home office expense carryover. It's only allowing  a small portion of my calculated home office deduction. As far as I can tell, it should only be limited if the deduction causes a loss, but the business profit is orders of magnitude greater than the deduction. Any ideas?

If you have already filled your return, and you need make a change to your original filing:   You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.  The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment For more information on amending a return and steps on how to amend your return, see the TurboTax help articles below:   How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?

Using the step-by-step screens for the Michigan return, you should have seen a screen titled Annualizing Your Income if you had an underpayment penalty. You may have not seen this screen if you elected to have Michigan bill you, rather than calculating the penalty with TurboTax.    Likewise, you would have encountered a screen in the federal step-by-step to review your underpayment penalty. Once you elect to review your underpayment penalty, the screens will populate.    @DR8539
