Yes, you are correct. File the final Form 568 this year. Next year, you'll file Form 100S instead.
We need more information. You would not get a message from TurboTax saying the IRS hasn't processed your return yet. If you didn't file 2023, it would not cause you to not file in 2024.   Please ... See more...

Why did you get 2 vouchers?  Are they both 1040V or a 1040ES?  If you amended your return you should only get one 1040V which you should ignore.  You just pay the amount on the actual 1040X amended return.    You will still get the first original full refund (and keep it) or need to pay the first tax due. You should not amend or change your return until you get the refund from the original return or your payment has cleared.   The amended return will only be the difference you get back or need to pay. You can confirm this by printing your amendment and looking at the 1040X. Line 18 should be your original refund amount and line 21 should be your additional refund. If you paid on your original return it will be on line 16 (but don't include any penalty on 1040 line 38). If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 20.   Ignore any 1040V voucher that prints out and the new 1040. Those are what your return would have been if you had not needed to amend.

If your son does not graduate from high school until 2025, and did not start classes in the first 3 months of 2025, then you would not be able to claim the  credit.   Also, the American Opportunity Tax credit is only good for the first 4 years of school.  So, claiming the credit now when your expenses are $500, would cause you to lose out on a higher credit amount in future years.  The credit is worth up to $2,500, if you are only claiming expenses of $500 you would only get a $500 credit, for the first year as opposed to waiting until he has tuition expenses and you could potentially get a credit of $2,500.  Meaning, you would potentially lose $2,000 in credit if you claimed it for just the $500.

You should be able to file electronically in this case if you apply for an Identity Protection Pin (IP PIN).   This is a new way that the IRS has this year to allow for a second filing when a return is rejected for a return already filed using the Social Security number of a dependent.    You can obtain the PIN via your IRS account which takes a few minutes to set up. (You do that at the IRS website.)   Once at the IRS website scroll through the tolls for "My Account" to apply.  You will need to get a new pin every year (via the same account) to file once you have an IP PIN. Note that you should get the PIN for yourself (the taxpayer) not the dependent.  Once you have the IP PIN, HERE is how to enter it in TurboTax. If the IP PIN doesn't work, you will need to mail your return with a postmark of no later than April 15.

we had the same issue. my son is a high school student and works part time. while going through the entire process it consistently showed him getting a total refund of approx $300. After we got done triple checking his info for accuracy we elected to print and mail the return. the amount decreased to $33. Seems as if turbotax isn't accurate and is misleading. Why would the amount change bc we wanted to print? why would it show a larger refund amount than what it actually was?  my son is understandably upset that the info was misleading. i have filed my taxes online with turbotax the last couple years but this has me leary now.

If your Schedule K-1 has amounts in both Box 1 and Box 2, you will need to add another K-1 to report Box 2 only.   Enter all the information from Part I and Part II of the K-1 on both copies. Include all information from Part III on the first copy - except for the amount in Box 2. The second copy should have only the amount in Box 2 from Part III.   If, however, you received additional information with Schedule K-1 that provides the breakdown of the amounts in the other boxes, use this info to split the other box amounts between the K-1s. Otherwise, follow the instructions above.

The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud.      You can find your 2023 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by: Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2023 Form 1040 Requesting a transcript of your 2023 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript    Please click on this TurboTax article for more information.    Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number.  If you:  Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.  Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).  Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.  Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2023 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter  0  for one of you).    Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.    This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

You only get Head of Household if you have a dependent.  $16,550 is the Standard Deduction for Single over 65.  So that's right.  Your Social Security is not taxable at all since your other income is less than $25,000.   And since the 16,550 Standard Deduction is more than your total income your taxable income is 0 zero.  The Standard Deduction is subtracted from your income to give you the taxable income.   Since you owe no tax on your income you get back all the $85 withholding.    And since you don't have any earned income from working like a W2 you do not qualify for any credits.  Don't know what you are referring to about inflation allowance $400 ??  Could that be a state thing?     And please don't keep making new posts.  Keep all the posts for this by replying to this thread.
No, unfortunately at this point you just have to wait.

The treatment of where and how the sale of your inherited property in the TurboTax program is correct.   The IRS considers inherited property to be long-term capital gain. The tax rate would be 0%, 15%, or 20%, depending on your income bracket.   Because these types of sales are considered investment sales, enter this info in the investment section of TurboTax.   You’ll have to use TurboTax Premium to report the sale of a second home, an inherited home, or land. Open or continue your return. Navigate to the sold second home screen: TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to sold second home. TurboTax Desktop: Search for sold second home and select the Jump to link. Answer Yes on the Did you have investment income in 2024? screen, then Continue. If you land on the Your investments and savings screen, select Add Investments. Follow the onscreen instructions. TurboTax FAQ: Where do I enter the sale of a second home, an inherited home, or land on my 2024 taxes?   @Mark-001
Yes, enter the actual state depreciation amount under Georgia Partnerships K-1 Adjustments.

In general. you would only need to file an amendment if you would owe additional taxes. However, different states have different rules.   Did you actually receive the refund when you marked your return that you received it or has no one actually received it?  Was it applied to your state tax return? If it was then no your husband can not.   You could try calling your state Department of Revenue and asking them. You can contact your state's Department of Revenue website for more details.
