It appears to me that your FSA in New Jersey is not a "similar" provider to insurance.   I have searched a great deal for your answer. I did find this post by Champ maglib from a number of years ago: FSA is pretax for Fed and taxable for NJ...  if you had reduced medical expenses itemized on your federal return by FSA payments, you can take a deduction in NJ for the medical expenses paid as they are considered reimbursed for Federal purposes but not considered reimbursed for NJ state purposes (NJ it is after tax).  Federal medical expense itemized deductions is limited to 7.5% of AGI and NJ only has a 2% limit so entering medical expenses that you may not have entered federally may help reduce your NJ taxes.  Other deductions in NJ would be premiums for health insurance as again they are pretax fed but after tax NJ.... I find this makes sense, because an insurance provider would allow you to build up amounts to pay for medical expenses using tax-free dollars (your insurance premiums are generally removed from income with code D in box 12 on your W-2). But in your case, for purposes of the state of New Jersey, the amounts are being built up in an account that is not tax-free - it is no different than you and your spouse putting after-tax dollars in a jar on the kitchen counter to pay for medical bills.

Feb 19 2026. Could not import.  Called.  45 minutes, then with agent 1.5 hours.  After 6 attempts got one import to work.  Others failed.  Brokerage sites are OK.  No solutions.  On call, mutliple failures, got the one import to work, after I was advised to switch to Google Chrome browser, two more failures, then one attempt imported.  Others imports continue to fail. Was advised to wait, update TT again, and try again in 24 hours.
It says, "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner." Today is 2/18/26

Okay I think I see what might be going on here. If you took the qualified distribution as yourself as the recipient and then used it all as a qualified expenses for a dependent then you don't need to file the form. If you took a distribution that went directly to the dependent recipient that was not qualified then they will get the 1099 and they will have to pay the taxes on the unqualified distribution. The software does not appear to be handling properly the case where some of the distribution is qualified and some of it is not. It seems rather a simple fix though as it's missing the screen for inputting the types of the distribution for tuition room and board computer software and books and fees that within deduct from income from the total distribution.

I'm having this exact same issue (stuck in an infinite loop of "is this a digital asset" and choosing "No" then clicking Continue which just asks me again, over and over), but I'm using TurboTax Desktop (for macOS).   As the user mentioned above, I went thru and 'reviewed' the inputted data on previous pages (I did not have any 'needs review' flags there), however in my case nothing changed and I cannot proceed with filing my taxes due to this bug.   How can I resolve this?

I am an F-1 international student who arrived in the U.S. in August 2024. For the 2025 tax year, I mistakenly filed Form 1040 as a resident using TurboTax and received a $1,403 refund, including the standard deduction and the American Opportunity Credit. I later learned that, as an F-1 student within my first five calendar years, I should have filed Form 1040-NR instead. I prepared a corrected return using Sprintax, which shows that I owe over $1,000. What is the proper procedure to amend this return? Should I file Form 1040-X with an attached 1040-NR and 8843, and pay the balance immediately? Also, is there a way to confirm the exact amount owed directly with the IRS before submitting payment?
