Here is where the Refund Advance option is if you qualify: When you get to the screen that says, "Get your federal refund faster" and it gives the option of Fast deposit to Credit Karma or a bank account, select "No thanks". The next screen is "How would you like to receive your federal refund?" If you are eligible for the Refund Advance, you will see this as an option.   The Refund Advance is not available to everyone.    Here are a couple things to check: If you are using a TurboTax partner affiliate link to use the software, the Refund Advance will not be available. If you select the 5 Day Early Refund Delivery, you will not see the Refund Advance option, but you can return to the refund selection page and find all the options listed. It's difficult to say without seeing your return.   Since you're using Desktop, you should check your deductible and confirm that the deductible amount is greater than the Standard Deduction,   Some limitations on Itemized deductions are:   Medical expenses are deductible, but you can only deduct costs that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).   State and local taxes are deductible, but remember the IRS ‌limits them to $40,000. In addition, this amount can be reduced based on your income level.

Ok, so my understanding is that we both are required to put the 1095-A on our returns since he is claiming our daughter as a dependent but it is also my wife and son’s policy as well? The dependent doesn't file an income tax return, as both kids are still under 5 years old. I just don’t know how the allocation percentage should be split because I don’t fully understand all of this.   Thank you for the information about Form 8332, I had not heard of it. Will I have to file that form myself as well? and will it have to be filed every year as we switch back and forth on claiming her or does it only get used the years he is claiming her?
Thanks.  So nothing to enter on my federal tax return?
Here it is January 27th and still no update for the 8606.  What the hell is going on?

To check if you signed up for the TurboTax Refund Advance, you can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.    Check Your TurboTax Order Details On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents." Select View Order Details. Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods. If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.   Look for Confirmation Emails If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners. From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection." From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account. From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.   Check Your Credit Karma Money Account Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed. Log in to your Credit Karma account. Navigate to the Money tab. If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.   Review Your Tax Return Summary You can also find clues on your actual tax forms: Open your 2025 return in TurboTax Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left Select Print Center View your Federal Information Worksheet Look at the "Direct Deposit" section If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.

If your return was accepted and not rejected, there is nothing you can do. You'll have to watch the Where's My Refund site. It could be that your return will go through additional processing but it's hard to say.   Once your return is filed and your return has been accepted, TurboTax has no control over its processing or the timing of your refund's release.   The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance. However, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.   Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
