Same here. I consider it a bug since it's not executing properly. I got around it by opening my 2024 with the 2025 app. It then transferred the information

MY DEPENDENT HAD A JOB
If your dependent has a W-2 for his after-school job, summer job, etc. you do not include the information on your own return. You can still claim your child as a dependent on your own return. He/she can file his own return for a refund of some of his withheld wages from boxes 2 or 17 (he won’t get back anything for Social Security or Medicare), but MUST indicate on it that he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return. (Supervise this closely or prepare it for him!)
If your dependent’s earnings were over $400 and were reported on a 1099Misc or 1099NEC then he must file a return and pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.
You might also want to use free software from the IRS Free File versions:

@sc-moore Delete the W-2 and re-enter manually. Make sure the amount in box 4 is no more than 6.2% of the amount in box 3.

My 19 year old full time student, high school then university earned $2645 in 2025 and received a W2. Does she need to file taxes, or do I need to include her W2 with my taxes?

Delete the w-2 and re-enter. Make sure the amount in box 6 is 1.45% or less of the amount in box 5.

I am having this same issue. TT will not prompt me to enter the amount I personally contributed. I have tried to revisit the form several times.

I do NOT believe it is a good idea to lie to the IRS even if it is a tiny amount. This is my LAST year to use TT.

I did some further research and found that you do not have to enter / report 1099-Q if your total qualified expenses for that year cover the amounts you withdrew from your 529 plan. So if this is the case, you can just delete your entry of the 1099-Q to avoid dealing with TT half-*** ability to support this feature. Here is a quote from one financial website "If your withdrawals did not exceed your qualified expenses for the year, the 529 plan distributions are income tax free. If this is the case, the 1099-Q can just be kept with your other important tax documents.". Definitely do your own research to confirm.

Social Security Tax is found by multiplying an employee's gross taxable wages by 6.2%. When I put my W-2 in the system the Turbotax calculation comes out incorrect (see screenshot below). When skipping this screen, I found other areas of the Turbotax system are calculating incorrectly as well.

Can it be resubmitted or what do i do here? this has never happened?

I use exact values, no rounding. Also, when I remove the “529” from the name of the payer, the issue seems to go away.

I had to file Federal and State separately because TurboTax kept giving an error for the refund method being a “check” when it wasn’t even selected as that. Filing federal without state allowed me to complete, and now I have to pay for the state filing but want to use my state refund to do so. There is not an option at checkout.
