You may have received an automated email indicating that Form 5695 was available.   While the form has been finalized, the final software update is still being deployed, and some customers may not yet see the form available in their product.   The update is actively rolling out across all platforms, and full access will be available once deployment is complete. No action is needed from you at this time.  Check again tomorrow and/or this weekend to complete filing 5695.  If you continue to see this form blocked after this weekend (1/25/26), please tell us in the replies below.

If you switch to the Online version for 2025…..You will notice several differences and may not like the online version.  It has less features and no Forms Mode.   The Online web version is only good for one account and one return.  Although you can use the same email address for 5 separate accounts.  Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2025 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done.   You can log in and access your return from any computer. You only can see the forms after you pay and download the pdf. And you might need to upgrade to a higher version to enter different kinds of income.   If you can't  install Turbo Tax Desktop program you can transfer from your 2024 return from your computer into the online version. You need to have the file ending in.tax2024 on your computer.   If you used the Desktop program last year here’s How to transfer into the Online version, https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/how-do-i-transfer-last-year-s-return-into-...

Go to Federal> Deductions and Credits> Your Home to enter mortgage interest, property taxes, and mortgage insurance that you paid in 2025   You should have a 1098 from your mortgage lender that shows this information.  Lenders send these in January/early February or you may be able to import the 1098 from the lender’s website.

When you use online TurboTax you pay for every return, and federal and state have separate fees.   You get one return per fee.  There is no discount for preparing multiple returns online----sorry.     When you use online TurboTax software you get one return per fee.   Each return needs its own account and user ID.   If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, the second one overwrites the first return and it is lost forever.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-start-another-return-in-turbotax-online/00/25596

Sure enough, in prior years, the follow-up question is:   "For the years you received these distributions, was the amount shown in box 2a of the form 1099-R used as the taxable amount?"   Then I can select  "Yes, the amount in box 2a was used as the taxable amount"   (and those are their bolding, not mine) _____________________   @dmertz   I suspect the new wording for 2025 (eliminating the box 2a words) will cause a whole host of messes for folks who have a 1099-R which actually lists a  box 2a value lower than box 1 for (say) after tax contributions.

Can you give an estimate on when the update promised for today will be available?

Are you an employee of Fidelity?   A W-2 is a document you receive from an employer.     Or do you mean you are trying to import some other kinds of tax documents from Fidelity -- such as a 1099R or 1099B?   Most financial institutions do not have those documents ready for import into tax software until later in the season.   They might put them on their site for you to print or see, but they are not yet formatted for import into tax software.   If you want to enter them before importing is possible, then you can key in the information by hand.

Thanks for the help - because I am still on Windows 10, I must use the online version.  Is there an extra charge for additional federal returns? I usually do my son's return in addition to  mine.   I've never used the online version before and have always downloaded TurboTax.

It was filed as E-file. What should I do then? Waiting for the state file to be approved/accepeted by the irs. The federal just got accepted.
