We have always filed jointly. This year we have to file separate due to my husband starting his own business. I logged into my turbo tax and it did not give me the option to remove him or chose to file separate. It just automatically included him in the info. Nothing in the frequently asked question lead me to an answer on what to do to fix it.
Sometimes the 2024 AGI does not make it into the system.   Try using zero.

Yes, Ohio provides a deduction for Social Security survivor benefits if they are included in your federal adjusted gross income. Ohio does not tax Social Security benefits, and you can claim a deduction on the Ohio Schedule of Adjustments for these payments, provided they are based on the death of the worker. It should happen automatically when they are entered.
Sounds like mistakes were made in MY INFO when you entered information for your spouse and your child.   You will need to go back to MY INFO and make corrections.

Yes. You can still claim Head of Household (HOH) status if the child lived with you for more than half the year and you paid over half the household costs, even if the other parent claimed him.    This works by listing your child as a dependent and confirming they have lived with you for at least 7 months. You can answer "yes" when the program asks if you are letting the other parent claim the child as a dependent. You can do this through a court order or through Form 8332.    So, even you don't claim your child as a dependent, you can keep the Head of Household status qualification.   You may print form 8332, sign it and give it to the other parent, so they can file their return correctly.  Form 8332

Your state refund depends on how much tax you paid in vs. what you actually owed, no refund simply means you didn’t overpay. Common reasons: lower state withholding, fewer state deductions/credits, or you owed state tax (which used up any refund).
I just had the same issue.  When I used the Back button to go back to the payee info and then continued back to the payment info, it allowed me to continue again off that page.

New York doesn't charge an underpayment penalty for not filing the previous year.  New York State imposes an underpayment of estimated tax penalty if withholding and estimated payments do not cover at least 90% of the current year’s tax or 100% of last year’s tax   If you did not file a return for the previous year, you generally cannot use the "100% of last year's tax" safe harbor. The state will likely base the penalty on 90% of your current year's liability
